Hi all
In a bit of shock but need some opinions!
So for the past few days ive had some leaking of colostrum type liquid both breasts, I'm 39 and have had 5 kids , new partner of 3 years no contraception ; he couldn't have children! Well after the leaking came these rolling movements in my upper abdomen between my belly bottom and my ribs on the right side , i videoed it to see if it was visible and it was ! I phoned the GP who was very dismissive and then said well just take a test, wouldn't see me to examine due to covid . Done a clearblue digital and it says pregnant 1 to 2
With the movement and leaking could I be further along? I have had light but regular periods for months I track them using the clue app. Thanks x

My midwife told me to get my partner and daughter to listen to the baby's heartbeat through a toilet roll later on in my pregnancy? Might be worth a go to see if your partner can hear anything then it would be an indication that your baby is over 15 weeks atleast? We didn't actually try it but a baby's heartbeat is quite different to ours? Just a thought? How exciting though! Congratulations!

Lady on my ward with my last DC found out she was weeks further on than she’d expected - she went assuming she was going for her first scan, albeit she believed she’d be around 18 wks because of a delay getting booked on (family issues) and turned out she was actually 35 wks Grin

Within 3 days of having the scan and finding his out her contractions started and she went into labour, baby born just shy of 36 weeks. Very small but absolutely fine.

These things happen!

Also she was well into her 30s! Not that it matters but it’s not like she was a young first time mum either, already 4 kids at home!

Toothsil · 29/10/2020 22:40

Congratulations! I'd say you're quite far on if you can see movement and you're leaking colostrum!

mineofuselessinformation · 29/10/2020 22:42

For those asking - the uterus is usually palpable after around twelve weeks.
I know with my second pregnancy I could palpate it fairly easily (you have to be quite firm).

bounce89 · 29/10/2020 22:52

Congratulations! I hope you get the scan date through soon.

HotPatootiebootie · 29/10/2020 22:59

Wow, congratulations!! If your scan is a few days /weeks away you could always book into a private scan Centre. And my daughter is a size 14 and 23 weeks pregnant with her first. The baby's movements are just visible .

WiggleSquiggle · 29/10/2020 23:01

Congrats! Shamelessly here to celebrate your happiness and see how you get on. Grin

Woui · 29/10/2020 23:09

Congratulations OP really hope everything works out for you!

Have you told DP?

rosegoldivy · 29/10/2020 23:15

Another one jumping on shamelessly to follow your journey.

Please don't wait for an NHS scan and keep us all in suspense for weeks, I'm sure we would all be more than happy to get a whip round for a private one just so we can know faster 😂😂

xxxJess123xxx · 29/10/2020 23:20

Congratulations!

Mumoftwoinprimary · 29/10/2020 23:22

Congrats Op! Aquick google shows graphs of hcg in pregnancy and it looks like the 20 week level is not that different to the 4 week level. Very exciting!

Star81 · 29/10/2020 23:27

Such a lovely story, Congratulations !

Cheeseandlobster · 29/10/2020 23:28

How exciting for you and your partner! Watching with interest!

user626847 · 29/10/2020 23:35

Oh wow! These are my favourite kind of posts. There was a recent one where a lady posted on here that she had felt something move and was freaking out, and she had the baby not long after. Please get a private scan tomorrow just to indulge us! Grin. Good luck!
