Ordered some flowers for Dsis birthday from a popular online florist.

I was expecting beautiful roses and thistles in muted tones and instead got a petrol station special.

I emailed the company who’ve told me I got what I paid for. They clearly think I’m being unreasonable. I know I’m not, so over to you:

YABU: they’re beautiful substitutes and definitely look at least as glamorous as roses

YANBU: £50??!!! Bloody hell!

I have made a mental note to never use that company.

Those flowers are awful, nothing like the picture and you would get much nicer in Tesco.

FannyFernackerpan · 28/10/2020 09:41

I know it's no laughing matter, but I couldn't help but chuckle (sorry OP I'm sure you are mightily pissed off, and rightly so) at the sheer audacity of it! Sending something that bears absolutely no resemblance to what you thought you were getting and charging fifty quid for it!

Then to actually defend themselves and saying you are unreasonable for expecting something that looked vaguely like their picture?

Pbbananabagel · 28/10/2020 10:21

YANBU at all - get on to their social media with those pictures as that’s absolutely appalling, it looks like the bouquet received was put together by someone who’s colour blind and is absolutely nothing like the one advertised.

Pimmsypimms · 28/10/2020 10:26

That's shocking op!! Making a mental note never to use Serenata.

fairydustandpixies · 28/10/2020 10:28

YANBU!! They are utterly crap! Name and shame, OP, then we know who to avoid!

thetoughhaveleft · 28/10/2020 10:43

These were the ones I received and this is after a couple of days (they're meant to perk up by this point). Just awful for £40!!

I agree with @Flowersupnorth

Try finding a local florist, they get to keep what you spend rather than forking over a large chunk to a network advertiser. You will get much better quality.

wink1970 · 28/10/2020 11:02

oh, and.... I’m going to contact them again today and let them know that over 500 MNers think they’re being unreasonable and see if that prompts them into action.

....send them the link.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 28/10/2020 11:05

I've done church & exhibition flower arranging, & I would never use the combination of flowers & foliage you were sent. They just don't go together & they lack the interest & style of the original bouquet. The pinks clash & the whole effect is solid & dull. There's no comparison between the two, & I hope you get your money back.

CounsellorTroi · 28/10/2020 11:08

@Iamthewombat

I’ve always had good experiences with M&S delivered flowers. They certainly wouldn’t pull a stunt like this!
Me too. I sent a friend some M & S flowers recently and she was thrilled with them.
LaVitaPuoEsserePiuBella · 28/10/2020 11:16

I agree that Bloom & Wild are excellent.

CrapFlowers · 28/10/2020 11:17

I have sent them the link to this thread Grin

It took them 16 minutes yesterday to respond to my initial complaint and say I got what I paid for. I’m assuming that is a semi-automated response because I still refuse to believe anyone could genuinely think the rubbish they sent was ok.

They’ve not responded to my follow up. Or the link.

The only way they are worth £50 is if delivery cost £45z

VinylDetective · 28/10/2020 11:21

The flowers in my sitting room that cost £4 from Aldi are far nicer than those. Bloom and Wild are my go to when I send flowers now.

ScottishStottie · 28/10/2020 11:33

Following to see their response to this thread! Those flowers are awful, not anywhere near the standard advertised.

EIEIOhmygod · 28/10/2020 11:45

They're hideous.

I've used Bloom & Wild successfully in the past but they're still overpriced.

Local florists often offer deliveries and are way better quality and value than these online companies.

FannyFernackerpan · 28/10/2020 11:57

Just got back from Tesco and having read this thread I particularly looked at the flowers. A £15 Tesco bouquet beats these hands down.

Shannith · 28/10/2020 12:01

Good on you OP

Get onto their Facebook and Twitter next

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 28/10/2020 12:34

Oh no Sad I've used Serenata a lot this year for various unwell and elderly friends and relatives. I haven't been sent any photos and really hope they weren't this bad!

LazyLucille · 28/10/2020 14:59

You have been absolutely had there!

CrapFlowers · 28/10/2020 19:10

So I’ve had no response to me forwarding them this thread or my follow up email Hmm

Did write a bad trust pilot review.

So infuriating.
