I don’t live in Wales but I’ve heard that they’re having a “firebreak” and shops cannot sell non essential items.

AIBU to think that that is just a step too far and completely over the top? Ok fair enough, tell people to stay at home but surely if someone needs to go shopping for essentials they can buy non essentials whilst they’re in a specific shop.

Not in my area. You can’t maintain 2m distance in a car. My DD’s test has been cancelled for the 3rd time this year

Sorry to hear about her test, that's so frustrating :(

Extremely frustrating, especially as we are in a rural area with a limited bus service. But it is what it is 🤷🏻‍♀️

That is what we had in NZ in April. Even the online shopping was severely restricted. It was fine, it worked, actually I can't remember people protesting about shopping (i do remember complaints about surfing ban Smile) and before anyone asks - this was to reduce the chance of accidents and related contact and exposure. It was of limited duration and effective.

Pretty sure this whole exchange was about wales deciding what was essential purchases and making mad rules on lockdown. You thought it was fair enough sanitary products, clothes and books were non essential because wales knew best. Not about going to the pub Hmm

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 01/11/2020 18:30

@IndiaMay ahhh, was it now. Could you kindly point me to the bit where I said that? And the bit where you didn't gloat about being able to go to the pub? GrinI

Anyway, I didn't win the lottery, sadly. Guess I wasted my one moment of prescience on this thread, how annoying.

Sorry to hear that, it’s probably for the best. With great power comes great responsibility after all Grin

If I'd just kept my mouth shut and gone straight out to buy that ticket... Sad
