I am very organised but also very poor Grin and I have a dilemma...

We have had a completely shit six months employment/finances wise (like lots of us I know) topped off by last week - a succession of horrifically timed events like self isolation, a broken washing machine and a bank fuck up. Etc. It goes on and on.

Because I am poor yet organised I have been (thank god) getting a little amount of stuff organised each week for Christmas. We've already gone through the money I've put away. I am eyeing up my stocking drawer (which is just teeny things really, like a shower gel each for the DC, extra long charger cables, that sort of stuff). BUT I have two scratchcards in there, one for DH's and one for DS's (over 18) stockings.

WIBU to do the scratchcards in case they are winning ones? Even £10 would help at the moment, to be honest!

PS I have already gone through the time honoured MN recommendations of checking loyalty cards, eBaying everything not nailed down, I am looking for work, DH has a job 4.45 - 7am and another 8am - 4.30pm. I can't take in ironing. There is nothing down the back of the sofa. We have cut all our bills down as low as possible. We have literally done everything we can already, so I don't need suggestions just scratchcard advice Smile

PPS this is NOT a fucking begging thread - it's meant to be a bit lighthearted in that laugh or you'll cry way, so please don't anyone be a dick Grin I don't have twins and there is money on my electric meter Wink

Why is this taking so long? Are you scratching it off with a pin?!

Sorry — just very very excited.

Sunnydaysstillhere · 27/10/2020 09:36

Is your dcat black? It's black cat day. Extra luck...
Wear a black glove and stroke it if necessary!!

Uhtredswoman · 27/10/2020 09:36

🤞🤞🤞

MacbookHo · 27/10/2020 09:36

Omg — that £5K is on its way!

ToScratchOrNotToScratch · 27/10/2020 09:37

Omg.

This is not a scratch card update but I have literally just got a text from DH saying there is overtime at his current job pre 8am and at the weekends, so he doesn't have to do the second job at a different place and use petrol etc.

It must be the mirror.

(I swear this is true. I would think I was a troll if I read this thread)

SummerHouse · 27/10/2020 09:37

So, so close to 5k I can taste it. Confused

EmmaGrundyForPM · 27/10/2020 09:39

I'm over invested here and I've never done a scratch card.

Theimpossiblegirl · 27/10/2020 09:39

The amount of luck we're all trying to send you must be helping in some way.
🍀🍀🍀

rockingaroundthemulberrybush · 27/10/2020 09:39

I haven't bought a scratchcard in years, but this thread is making me want to buy 3 and send them to you to scratch!

MacbookHo · 27/10/2020 09:39

It’s the mirror!!! Something like that happens every time I do feng shui stuff. YAY, OP!!!!

SummerHouse · 27/10/2020 09:39

Oh gosh the overtime. It's a SIGN!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/10/2020 09:39

It's ok, if you win anything we'll accuse you of being a troll anyway Grin

SummerHouse · 27/10/2020 09:41

There's an itch on that third line op.

Atalune · 27/10/2020 09:41

Congratulations for your Dh that is really good news!

We have a domestic general insurance policy on our be try old hotpoint at £7/month. Well worth keeping out old bird going!

TrickorTreacle · 27/10/2020 09:41

My predictions:

1st scratchcard won't win.
2nd scratchcard will get you £1.

Scratchcards offers poor return for this type of gambling.

JeezLouisePlease · 27/10/2020 09:42

@ToScratchOrNotToScratch I’ve been where you are so I’m sending you all the good luck vibes I can. Not just for the scratch cards but because I think the universe is turning things for you. Better things are coming. I can feel it Star

ToScratchOrNotToScratch · 27/10/2020 09:42

Buggery fuck. That last £5 really got my hopes up as I thought it was £5000! I was starting to feel a bit bad that I was glamorising gambling or something, but now I can rest easy as I'm making it look stressful and then shit and disappointing!

£20. £20. £5000
£5. £5000. £100,000
£2. £2. £5

Would AIBU to use these scratchcards or should I save them...

Oh my days! I've never done a scratch card on the basis the house always wins.

This is gripping though, and I'm so pleased about your husband's overtime!

SummerHouse · 27/10/2020 09:43

Oh come on trick can't you see our positive energy is already getting results!? Grin

picklemewalnuts · 27/10/2020 09:43

Argh no! Did you need three the same?!

Yes you need three the same

Second card, anyone?

Should I move the mirror?

OP posts:
Alonelonelyloner · 27/10/2020 09:44

Just joined. Don't you still have another card left????

I'm gripped (I've never done a scratchcard)

SummerHouse · 27/10/2020 09:45

This is just the part where the heroine faces adversity (right before she wins the jackpot!)

MacbookHo · 27/10/2020 09:46

I was starting to feel a bit bad that I was glamorising gambling or something, but now I can rest easy as I'm making it look stressful and then shit and disappointing!

That really made me laugh! 😂

Don’t move the mirror, but can you put a candle so it’s reflected by the mirror? Lights are lucky.
