I'm honestly shocked at how these poor women have been treated and my heart breaks for them. How on earth did anyone think that this was ok? No one should be forced to have an examination that they did not consent too. There is no excuse for this behaviour.

That's horrendous - especially the fact none spoke English - horrifying, stuff of nightmares!! My DH would've been arrested on that flight for sure, had it been me being dragged off! Good grief!

I don't quite get the posters who compare leaving a baby in a toilet in a busy airport to child murder. Surely there would be a very strong likelihood that the baby would be found by a cleaner or other user?

And as others have pointed out, what better chance would the mother have of ensuring the baby was cared for if she was sent to prison?

Close relative of mine (through adoption) was handed in at a police station as a newborn. Hard to see what else the mother could have done under any likely scenario. But that was not in a country where she'd be likely to sent to prison for having a baby.
