I quite like the cutlery holders and I’ve never thought of a chocolate orange cozy before but if someone gave me one of those I’d reuse it every year. I love naff Christmas decorations.

The chocolate wrapped in cellophane always boggles my mind. Why wouldn’t you just buy and wrap the chocolate yourself for half the price? There’s no skill involved.

@Acrasia yes the elf is inside. It does sound a bit traumatic Grin

I like these threads but only when it is actual shite people are selling. The weird stressed out dog or whatever it is upthread for example.

The knitted nativity aren't tat, they're just not to your taste. The chocolate bouquets aren't to my taste but people are buying them because of the way they are displayed rather than just buying 36 double deckers and wrapping them. Surely you can see that's slightly different?

TheoriginalLEM · 26/10/2020 07:58

I agree, i do actually like the chocolate orange covers, i can see those on a cristmas tree

it's no wonder some people are in debt if they are paying 5000% over the shop price for a few choc bars wrapped up in a bit of cellophane !
still, each to their own, but come on...

sapnupuas · 26/10/2020 08:20

Why do I want, no, need, the nativity chocolate orange covers??

StrawBeretMoose · 26/10/2020 08:26

@LadyCatStark you need to charge your phone so you can keep looking for tat to amuse us!

Chimchar · 26/10/2020 08:39

I love the chocolate orange covers...going to get one for my dh for Christmas. I keep giggling because he's going to think it's hysterical! 😂

EmeraldShamrock · 26/10/2020 08:50

I'll search up some photos to add.
A local lady makes Christmas logs with a candle some snow spray with a piece of holly she makes a fortune every year.

VillanellesOrangeCoat · 26/10/2020 10:03

@ViciousJackdaw

Or a choirboy who looks like the chocolate orange has been shoved a bit too far in...

OMG that’s brilliant 🤣🤣🤣

balla20 · 26/10/2020 10:08

The knitted things whilst not to my taste are at least crafted. Why would anyone want to buy a tiered display of pop & crisps for more than it the shops?

Marshmallow91 · 26/10/2020 17:40

Remember last year someone posted an ornament with some red haired kid showing his arse next to a cat?? I wonder if it ever found a home far away from me

Trickleg · 26/10/2020 18:10

@HepLaurenceLB

Are you worried about your chocolate orange getting cold?
Actually the chocolate orange cover is for charity, Team Lovelight do amazing work in South West London and overseas, so whilst much of the rest is tat please lay off this one!
TheoriginalLEM · 28/10/2020 08:29

Errr, £25???

but never mind that - wtaf is that behind the box? Envy

@Trickleg Does something magically stop being tat if it is for charity?

HepLaurenceLB · 28/10/2020 16:03

@TheoriginalLEM Is that a dustbin full of egg shells? 🤮.
Also Pie Face is £12.99 brand new, how are they charging £25?

Trickleg · 28/10/2020 16:08

@HepLaurenceLB no, not at all, but it’s not unknown for items sold for charity to be marketed at a price that exceeds their actual value, no? So it’s almost a given that they are overpriced - the seller isn’t trying to pull a fast one.

SpookyNoise · 28/10/2020 16:12

This Halloween treat will cost you £7.50!

Great typo! I think they look OK actually..not sure there will be many sales with those words describing them!

@sepsisandAKI was the word meant to be “Christmas Hit?”

CorpusCallosum · 28/10/2020 17:40

I do love a good tat thread.

Some crafts are talented but not to my taste (like the chocolate orange covers, but some really are tat.

Have we had the inevitable wonky Rudolph 'scultpures' or the snowman/reindeer poo in a cellophane cone yet? Custom cheap glasses dunked in glitter is always a winner too.
