AIBU to go to a hotel on my own

I have the opportunity to go to a hotel on my own this Saturday. I would only be haa as of an hour from home. I would go shopping then get take away and a bottle of wine and sleep.
I have a 4 year old and a 4 month old. I haven’t been alone since before lockdown. My partner works away but is home. DD2 is bottle fed do no issues there but I have a niggling guilt.
I am an introvert and feel like no one is getting the best of me just now. Thoughts?

Oh bugger. I’m so sorry. Bloody Covid. FlowersFlowersFlowers

Kseniya · 22/10/2020 20:04

think about the fact that there are much more serious problems in the world.
and just let yourself relax! you deserved it! you will not become a person worse from this, just let yourself be relax, the choice has already been made)

Littleelffriend · 22/10/2020 20:09

@Kseniya I’m well aware that there are more serious problems. I find it hard to “just relax “ and I’m allowed to be disappointed that the only things I’ve looked forward to in months are bring cancelled

I’m so sorry. Had got quite happy at the thought of someone getting something nice!
Maybe try for end of November/early December. Something to look forward too.

try to ask yourself a question yourself? what could help you? we know ourselves better than others and more often than not we can help resolve the issue ourselves)
actually i think you need to go out and let go of everything

Yes go!

wineandcheeseplease · 23/10/2020 19:06

my DREAM!

twilightcafe · 24/10/2020 20:33

I'm reporting in from the second night of my hotel stay. It's been bliss. Woke up late, went to a museum, strolled round a flea market, had a coffee, meandered around Borough Market.
I'm having the best time. And I've got another solo sleep to go.

JollyGiraffe12 · 24/10/2020 20:37

Do it! I’ve done it recently and it helped enormously. I’m also an introvert and everything was getting on top of me felt like everyone wanted a piece of me constantly. A little break will help give you some headspace but then look at trying to regain some balance in your life. Easier said than done of course but make time for you even just 20 mins uninterrupted ‘me time’ every week where you just lock yourself away and read/meditate/watch something etc. Make it a regular thing at a set time.

I work in a hotel with a spa and very often we get mums come to stay for a night to have some me time, peace and quiet and a decent night sleep! Quite often at breakfast they will be on facetime to their children!
