AIBU to go to a hotel on my own

I have the opportunity to go to a hotel on my own this Saturday. I would only be haa as of an hour from home. I would go shopping then get take away and a bottle of wine and sleep.
I have a 4 year old and a 4 month old. I haven’t been alone since before lockdown. My partner works away but is home. DD2 is bottle fed do no issues there but I have a niggling guilt.
I am an introvert and feel like no one is getting the best of me just now. Thoughts?

Do it! I try to go away by myself twice a year. Takeaway, wine, soak in the bath, nice long lie in!

MayFayre · 21/10/2020 22:17

Do it!

I’m very jealous.

Merrz · 21/10/2020 22:18

Definitely do it, sounds like heaven!

Knottedstomach11 · 21/10/2020 22:19

I did it last month & it was bliss. I took my favourite wine, had a room with a balcony & bath - it was so relaxing.
I did my miss DH & the kids the next day and was excited to get home to them

Enjoy

Yes!! Take the opportunity! You'll feel so much better 😍

Feetupteashot · 21/10/2020 22:21

If you take opportunity to have cooked breakfast too then YADNBU

redcarbluecar · 21/10/2020 22:22

Sounds brilliant - do it! I like a little hotel stay now and again.

tartantroosers · 21/10/2020 22:23

Wooop wooop. Enjoy every minute!

Bid876 · 21/10/2020 22:25

Do it!

itchyfinger · 21/10/2020 22:27

I've done it a few times when I've reached peak tiredness/mental overload with young kids. It's really important to take time to recharge and have a bit of headspace, otherwise it impacts the whole family!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 21/10/2020 22:28

Do it and enjoy it.
I would love to have that option right now so make the most of it as you have. 👍🏻

VodselForDinner · 21/10/2020 22:30

Before Covid, I used to spend a lot of time on my own in hotel rooms as I often worked away.

Room service, some wine, bring some snacks, face mask (the cosmetic type- not the ones we all know about now!), hair conditioning treatment, trashy stuff downloaded onto the iPad from Netflix, room service breakfast the next morning.

Bliss.

seayork2020 · 21/10/2020 22:31

Over the years I have done this a lot, it saves me complaining how tired/busy/misunderstood i am.

So yes if you want to do it then do it

Inkpaperstars · 21/10/2020 22:32

Definitely do it, hope you enjoy a well deserved break.

Seriously79 · 21/10/2020 22:38

Ohhhh is this a thing? 🤔

I love this idea! I have a 11 year old and 16 month old, and the thought of having a night to myself - hot bath, bed all to myself 🤗

Unicorners · 21/10/2020 22:42

Yes do it! A few months after having my first, I did something similar and it was awesome.

BoogieFeet · 21/10/2020 22:46

Sounds amazing

TitianaTitsling · 21/10/2020 22:46

Do it, please do it and I'll pretend its me!!

Clareflairmare · 21/10/2020 22:47

Go!

NeverAMillionMilesAway · 21/10/2020 22:51

Oh, do it! Once covid is over, I am going to the nearest big city for a weekend alone. I might even splash out on a luxury city centre hotel, if I can stretch to it!

2020iscancelled · 21/10/2020 22:52

Sounds like heaven

Go and enjoy

Self care is important - now more than ever.

I’m thinking of doing this in the future, DC2 doesn’t sleep well at the minute and we’re shattered every day, it doesn’t feel right to leave DP to deal with it alone so I’m going to wait until the sleeping improves but then I’m booking a spa and hotel and totally indulging myself

Don’t feel guilty, you totally give yourself to your family when the kids are young. One night is nothing in the grande scheme but it could make all the difference to you!

Italiangreyhound · 21/10/2020 22:56

Do it. Not my type of thing but you enjoy.

Ltdannygreen · 21/10/2020 22:57

Go for it, I’d love to do that, no more nights away for me since my son was diagnosed with ASD he relies solely on me to do his routine and hates change. I’d book a hotel in a heartbeat if I could 😊

Lipz · 21/10/2020 23:01

No clock watching, eating when you like, what you like, few drinks, veg out in bed... Total bliss do it.

Costacoffeeplease · 21/10/2020 23:04

I do it regularly and don’t even have any kids!
