AIBU to think baked beans do not belong on pasta?!

This was DS dinner tonight.

AIBU to want to throw up at the prospect?

Oh, I've not had that for years! I used to live on pasta, beans and cheese when I was a student - might have to try some for old times sake!

Beans belong on toast or a baked potato, not on pasta

My housemate at uni's favourite was sausage and ketchup pasta

Pasta in a rich tomato sauce with haricot beans for protein, a delicious and balanced meal...

Yabu.
Fave comfort (student food) was baked bean lasagne.
Lasagne sheets layered with beans and white sauce and loads of cheese. Incredible. Even better 2nd day.

YADNBU. I can't comprehend that combination at all. I remember the absolutle nadir of my culinary advertures when I was a starving student many years ago was having baked beans and rice, as it was all I had left and I couldn't afford to go shopping for anything else. When I told DS2 about this, he thought it sounded like his best meal ever, and he sometimes cooks it for himself! Yuk!

Baked bean and pasta do not belong together! I wouldn't have them in the same cupboard, let alone as a dish (not envy!)

I survived my first year at uni with pasta, beans or pasta and beans.

About once a year I have brand on spaghetti. It’s delicious

I used to eat them when I was a student, with cheese on top. Of course nowadays I actually know how to cook inexpensive tasty pasta sauce from scratch so I wouldn't dream of it now. It's only one step up from ravioli from a can.

I used to love beans with a pound of grated mature cheddar melted in and then mixed with a pan of pasta. Sometimes, just to really push the boat out, I'd melt in a tin of corned beef too. Those were in the good old days when I had the metabolic rate of a hummingbird on speed.

They belong anywhere you choose to put them as long as you're not forcing anyone else to eat the meal, we now have the Food Gestapo! The other night I had what I call a fridge meal, all those little bits of left overs, rice, pepper sauce, Singapore noodles, slimey mushrooms , it was lovely!

That's horrible, only remedied by half a pound of cheese on top but even so yuck.

I had a friend growing up whose Mum was Italian and whenever I went round for tea we had tomato pasta with beans and a fuck tonne of cheese.

However, it wasn't baked beans but that sounds... fab. I might give it a try next time I need a hangover meal!

Delicious! Almost as delicious as rice and gravy (or pasta and gravy come to think of it). My work colleagues think I am disgusting
