@twoticksvix

Delicious! Almost as delicious as rice and gravy (or pasta and gravy come to think of it). My work colleagues think I am disgusting Grin
If you were sat at my place of work eating rice and gravy I’d probably have something to say about that too Grin

A proper tomato sauce with some legumes added - delicious with pasta.
Baked beans from a tin on pasta - not so great.

Beaverdam100 · 20/10/2020 23:36

Filth.

InglouriousBasterd · 21/10/2020 00:01

Pasta, beans and cheese was my favourite student meal and is still a lazy favourite today. Sometimes I posh it up with branston beans Grin

That sounds revolting. I dare your ds to go to Italy and tell them that!

And all of you who voted YABU!

Haha I had an Italian friend at uni, she would recoil in horror at Dominos!

iswhois · 21/10/2020 00:28

I used to LOVE this but haven't had it for several years!!

Shxx · 21/10/2020 02:25

Disgusting wtf.

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 21/10/2020 02:42

The thought of it turns my stomach now but pasta with baked beans and cheese is pretty much what I lived on when I was a teenager.

She has a point. Dominos is vile.

Baked beans doesn't belong on pasta I'm afraid...

safariboot · 21/10/2020 02:56

That sounds like a meal you have when the cupboards are nearly empty and you're trying to figure something out.

SunscreenCentral · 21/10/2020 03:16

No, no, no, and No. makes me feel Envy thinking about that!

squeekums · 21/10/2020 04:09

Eww that is all kinds of wrong

GeorgiaGirl52 · 21/10/2020 04:26

Baked beans do not belong on pasta, toast or potatoes.
Baked beans belong in a casserole dish, heated with chopped onion and crispy bacon on top.

HeronLanyon · 21/10/2020 05:38

I love baked beans but they become strangely abhorrant - kind of uniquely for me - if I’m wrong combo.

Good -
Cold from tin
On toast
With onions / capers on toast or on own hot.

Bad - anything else esp
On/in baked potato
On same plate as fried egg with soft yolk/pastry/rice/pasta/noodles.

Realised reading this thread I have really strong feelings about this!

eaglejulesk · 21/10/2020 05:55

Nothing wrong with it! I'm not keen on tomato based sauce, but baked beans is tasty with pasta. I also have pasta with ice cream, or yoghurt.

moolady1977 · 21/10/2020 06:01

My DD loves pasta cheese and beans and has got her boyfriends two young dc eating it much to the horror of the dad ,dc love it and often ask her to make it for them

moolady1977 · 21/10/2020 06:02

@twoticksvix I used to love rice and gravy not had it in years

userxx · 21/10/2020 06:17

baked bean lasagne.

I loved baked beans and lasagne but I'm not sure this combo would do it for me!

HelenaJustina · 21/10/2020 06:21

Such a student meal, pasta with baked beans on top, bit of grated cheese. Proper comfort food! Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 21/10/2020 06:28

pasta - no

Baked beans on a crumpet - delicious, the holes fill up then squelch with the sauce.

Sometimes I mix a can of beans with a can of other beans , such as cannellini, reducing the ratio of beans to gloopy sauce.

TheSeedsOfADream · 21/10/2020 06:37

Italians eat pasta and beans once a week usually. Admittedly not Heinz but the principle is the same. Haricot/Cannellini beans with a bit of tomato/celery/onion/carrot broth.
I imagine the original Heinz recipe came from a bastardisation of the Italian dish.
