This is off the back of the other thread for the most disturbing scene'
It can be something that moved you, thrilled you, made you cry etc.

I've just seen Ammonite with Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan as lovers and it has hands down the most realistic lesbian love scene I've ever encountered - they co-ordinated it themselves apparently ( rather than let a male director show what he thinks women might do together in bed) and it shows. Passionate, tender, very rude, realistic.

And for most OMG - the dinner party scene in Doctor Foster where Suranne Jones gets her calmly gets her revenge tossing a hand grenade of truths at everyone...

Masterclass in tension building...

The healing of the prison warden’s wife in The Green Mile.

popcornfrenzy · 19/10/2020 13:45

Opening scene in Saving Private Ryan for me - gripping, frightening and emotionally charged

Cadent · 19/10/2020 14:10

I haven't heard of the film but isn't there a 20 year age gap between Kate and Saoirse? I always find big age gaps a bit icky, especially when it's an ageing man with a young woman.

'I haven't heard of the film but isn't there a 20 year age gap between Kate and Saoirse? I always find big age gaps a bit icky, especially when it's an ageing man with a young woman.'

Without seeing a film I don't think you can judge - it really is a gorgeous film, with a complex love affair at the heart of it and the age gap is acknowledged in subtle ways, as in the imbalance in their relationship because of class and money. They're both phenomenal in it.

Plus it's about Mary Anning, yet another pioneering woman who didn't get the credit she deserved at the time from the scientific community... what's not to love...

I always tear up when Toy Story 3 ends and Andy gives Woody, and all the toys, to Bonnie. It’s silly but even after several times it makes me sob, as we watch his childhood ends and he moves on with his life.

I am a sucker for Pixar the montage of Carl and Ellie in Up! Makes me cry every time too. Damn Disney and their emotional manipulation

Turtleturtle81 · 19/10/2020 15:52

Jordan Catalans and Angela Chase hallway scene in My So Called Life. This scene was EVERYTHING to me as a teenager. Watched it again recently and it still makes me well up.

Cadent · 19/10/2020 15:59

I will watch the film, OP!

Holeinthehouse that reminds me of Inside out when Joy finally lets Sadness have a go and Riley tells her parents 'You need me to be happy but I want to go home'. It always makes me cry. I think we out too much pressure on girls to be happy all the time.

sapnupuas · 19/10/2020 16:01

The opening scene from Ghost Ship.

The rest of the film is shite, though.

stackemhigh · 19/10/2020 16:01

@Turtleturtle81 haha it looks like we were born in the same year!

I was devastated that My So Called Life wasn't renewed for a second season!

And what was even more stranger was nerdy Brian in MSCL was daring bad boy Sean De Luca in Roswell Grin

stackemhigh · 19/10/2020 16:03

In that same vein - Dawson's Creek, when Pacey and Joey are dancing and he tells her 'I remember everything' . I think I wore the VHS out on that bit!

BlusteryShowers · 19/10/2020 16:05

The ending of The Office where Dawn comes back to kiss Tim to 'Only You'

I'm rewatching The West Wing and they know how to do a cracking season finale as well. Season Two where Bartlett gets up in front of the press conference👌

crumpet · 19/10/2020 16:05

The last scene of the last series of Outlander was truly beautiful.

crumpet · 19/10/2020 16:09

YY to the Office scene - very touching

TheQuietWoman · 19/10/2020 16:11

The scene at the almost exclusively male Union meeting in North Country, where Charlize Theron's character, who had been relentlessly abused by the men at work, tried to be heard and the men yelled and shouted at her and wouldn't let her speak. Then her father, who had been against her working at the plant, stood up and gave his colleagues both barrels for their sexist crap. He let them have it completely! It was a fantastic performance by Richard Jenkins...thrilling. I read that the abuse and heckling was unscripted by the men, and Theron said it was the most devastating thing she had ever encountered.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 19/10/2020 16:21

Definitely got my heart.. in Haunting of Hill House when young Nelly is saying how was here the whole time and nobody could see her...then cuts to present and ghost Nelly has been with her family the whole time but no body could see her Sad

Jojo Rabbit..where he follows the butterfly and all is lovely..till its not.
And the ending..'dancing is for people who are free'..and they dance!

Pushing Daisies..Morning has broken sing song...just a lovely little moment.

LoseLooseLucy · 19/10/2020 16:30

The ending of The Office where Dawn comes back to kiss Tim to 'Only You'

This for me too.

Also, “Son of a bitch, he stole my line” from Good Will Hunting.

Two Cathedrals in The West Wing. The whole Brothers in Arms bit. It's just amazing.

YES YES YES YES YES

I just watched that last night. Goosebumps.

'Michael Clayon' - the scene where the bent attorney played by Tilda Swinton who's been covering up her clients super dodgy dealings has a panic attack in the loos and has to compose her self to get back out there with her game face on... masterclass in showing someone on the verge of a complete mental breakdown due to stress... and guilt...
