..in your head?

I dont have to get up until 7am tomorrow. I need 7-8 hours sleep, so I suppose I could o to bed at 11pm and feel refreshed.

But in my head, 10pm is bedtime, and staying up after seems wrong. I've felt this ay since I was a teenager, and thugh I stayed out at all hours, Past 10 was always Past Bedtime.

DH doesn't have a mental bedtime, so is always knackered after staying up until after midnight on weekdays.

AIBU?

Normally about 10pm but sometimes as early as 8.30 if I am going through a particularly tired phase. I actually love an early night!

angelikacpickles · 18/10/2020 21:39

Midnight. If I get there before that, I feel I've had an early night.

hammeringinmyhead · 18/10/2020 21:39

11 for me. 11.30ish latest. My toddler is up at 7 every day so that gets me my 7 to 8 hours! If I go to bed any earlier I'd only get a couple of hours "me" time and we eat dinner at about 8pm.

meow1989 · 18/10/2020 21:39

Im rubbish at bedtie, a real night owl, but i like sleep a lot.

Generally about 11.15 is when I go to bed on a work night, knowing ill be up with ds at about 7... but my natural rhythm would be bed at about 1.30am, wake at about 11 I think.

Nottherealslimshady · 18/10/2020 21:44

9-10ish. It's very rare I stay up past midnight. I'm a very tired person though and am getting sleepy eyes from 8-9ish and it's a real trial to get up before 7.30.

beansonbread · 18/10/2020 21:44

I usually head up around 9ish, read till 9.30pm and then play a Headspace sleep cast to get me to sleep. I’m watching a film tonight so that routine will probably be shifted back by about an hour or so. The latest I’ve gone to bed recently has been 10.30pm, I feel so old (despite the fact I’m early 30s) but with a very active 2 year old, I need the early nights!

Floralnomad · 18/10/2020 21:46

Bedtime , as in going upstairs to bed is 10pm actual time to stop watching TV , playing on the iPad etc is anytime between 1-3 am . I did nights for so many years that I can’t sleep any earlier than that . I get up around 7.30/8 and can function perfectly well on 4/6 hours sleep .

BoudiccasBoudoir · 18/10/2020 21:49

11.45pm. When I go "shit it's nearly midnight" Been like that since I was a teenager.
But it should be 9pm 😂

AyDeeAitchDee · 18/10/2020 21:50

We get into bed at 10.

Sleep at 11. Unless we're tired earlier.

Watch tv/cuddle/chat etc.

AriettyHomily · 18/10/2020 21:52

Ten, usually fall asleep before half past watching the news. Dh turns the tv off.

Alarm at 6 on week days.

TokyoSushi · 18/10/2020 21:52

Around 11pm for me

Toothsil · 18/10/2020 21:53

10.30 is my ideal bedtime, anything up to 11.15 is okayish, midnight is my absolute final cut off for being late

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/10/2020 21:57

About 11.30 pre-Covid, and up at 6.30 for work. Now I don’t get up until 7.45 as WFH.

I don’t read or roam the Internet in bed, and we don’t have a TV in there, so it’s bed to sleep.

Natsel84 · 18/10/2020 22:04

I go to bed between 10.30 to 11 . Look at my phone till about 11.30 then zzzz time

MasksGlovesSoapScrubs · 18/10/2020 22:04

10pm for me too. If I see the time and it's 10:30pm I always think 'I should be in bed'.

lazylinguist · 18/10/2020 22:06

Head off to get ready for bed between 10 and 10:30 and always read for 20-30 mins before going to sleep.

Loveletters123 · 18/10/2020 22:24

Usually 10pm but I’m doing sleep restriction at the moment for insomnia and have to stay up until 12am. It’s so so hard and I fell asleep on the sofa at 9:30pm! Soooo tired

Deelish75 · 18/10/2020 22:32

Go to bed just after 10.30. I’m up at 6.

HotToCold · 18/10/2020 22:43

I need atleast 7 hours!

But dont have to get up in the mornings...
Partner is always up early

I tend to go to sleep about 2am...

ventanaperrito · 18/10/2020 22:44

10pm is but then I don't sleep until much later mores the pity

AlwaysLatte · 18/10/2020 22:53

Up at 6.45. Usually go to bed around 12.30-1.00.

firesong · 18/10/2020 22:59

About 12 normally. Could use more sleep though. Just hate wasting the free time sleeping when the children are asleep

QueenOllie · 18/10/2020 23:07

Night owl with insomnia Hmm which is helpful
Aim for midnight (I get up between 7-8 depending on work) but really it's often 2-3 before I sleep

gypsywater · 18/10/2020 23:11

10am seems way too early to me for an adult bedtime. I say 11pm-midnight is bedtime. I get up at 7am.

gypsywater · 18/10/2020 23:11

10pm even Grin
