DH and I sitting having a tearful heart to heart about infertility and what will we do if his sperm count is still low on the next test. Darling Dog (now DD) jumps up on the sofa and puts her paw on my arm, in an obvious attempt to soothe me, DH and I were so taken aback by her sweetness that it totally took us out of ourselves and made us laugh, it really was the loveliest moment and she was obviously concerned about me. She looked SO worried.

Dogs get a hard time on here, but the concern DD had on her face was just incredible and has made a v sad me feel a whole lot better. She is a little sweetheart. Dogs are amazing.

We have an 8 month old pup who is lovely but I really want to talk about my dads dog.
My dad was diagnosed with cancer in August 2016 and told it was terminal in April 2017 - he was given around 6 months to live.
Him & his wife got a dog not long after this, my dad had always grown up with dogs but hadn't had one since he was young.
The dog was 8 months old but had basically been left in a house all day every day while owners were at work with no training or socialisation. She wasn't even toilet trained when my dad took her on.
Every day this wee dog gave my dad a reason to get up. He trained her, took her for walks and she was his constant companion.
We lived 350 miles away so we couldn't be there often and I was so grateful he had that dog. He absolutely adored her.
He died peacefully in his bed in December with his wife and that wee dog by his side. I really think she was one of the things that kept him going for so long for which I'm so grateful as he got to know his grandson during that time too.
And now my dads widow still has a part of him in the dog and she keeps her going too.

A wonderful story. How lovely they gave each other just what they both needed at that time. Flowers

Dogs are the best!
My DH had a very low sperm count, we had ICSI using IMSI and have four children this way. Don’t give up hope, wishing you all the best

My dog is great, and a sod. As is my cat.

If I'm crying, the dog lies on her bed looking sorry for herself, but the cat sits on my knee.

If I'm ill (chronic migraine), they both curl up quietly next to me on the sofa, or the cat joins me in bed and the dog doesn't ask to go out for hours and hours bless her.

If I'm puking, the cat has form for standing on my back. Laughing and throwing up is hard!
