@Lovelymonkeyninetynine

Sorry if this has been said, but 'shop' the collection. Not buy, but 'shop'. Ugh.
And buy 'a trouser'. Confused

I had an American choir director circa (sorry!) 2009 who said 'my bad' and didn't give off an internet-geek vibe.

The use of 'socially distancing' as a verb in itself gets on my nerves. 'They said we have to socially distance even if we live together'. 'She wasn't socially distancing.' Surely just 'distancing' will do in those contexts.

CatteStreet · 16/10/2020 19:37

(I like 'my bad', FWIW. I generally approve of playng around creatively with language. It's a transference of an adjective to a noun in a lighthearted way)

AestheticWitch · 16/10/2020 19:39

Clothes described as 'pieces for your wardrobe' 😆

CrunchyChristopher · 16/10/2020 19:56

Another museum curator. I hate, hate , hate the misuse of my job title.

RonaLisa · 16/10/2020 20:00

It's lovely to find all the worst phrases known to mankind all curated in one handy Mumsnet Edit.

Can we add "a red lip", "a smoky eye", and "a flat shoe"? (M&S is a particular culprit). I don't want one flat shoe. I want a pair of them.

Yoloyohol · 16/10/2020 20:10

Warpdrive Grin

SabrinaThwaite · 16/10/2020 20:48

Somebody told me the other day that they carefully curate their Twitter feed.

Apparently I curate my wanker acquaintance collection.

The pieces for my wardrobe are shelves and hangers.
LasagneLady · 16/10/2020 20:54

I have found my people.

Impacted is the worst. The only time I found myself saying it I felt like I had soiled myself.

Rememberallball · 16/10/2020 20:57

To me it’s as nails on blackboard as ‘birthed’ is instead of gave birth to! But perhaps I’m just a dinosaur!!

SabrinaThwaite · 16/10/2020 21:02

I’m currently reviewing “agile sprint” projects.

Shoot me now.

Oh no, they're good. Scrum?
SarahBellam · 16/10/2020 21:14

I see your curate and I raise you artisanal. It makes me think of some sort of arse glands, not bread made by virgins on a Tuesday in a village outside Winchester.

SabrinaThwaite · 16/10/2020 21:23

No, really not that good, it’s generally management bollocks speak, but apparently sounds better than “we threw everyone in a small room for a week and made them actually make a decision”.

Itchybush · 16/10/2020 21:37

I spend far too much time Googling yoga/meditation/personal development stuff and the wank speak is glorious. Lots of holding/creating space and sending the breath/breathing into the ankles Hmm Also the manifest/attraction/abundance shite.

Goingdooolally · 16/10/2020 21:51

Boobing 🤢

RaisinsRuinEverything · 16/10/2020 21:54

Can we add “narrative” to the list? People are always having narratives and I don’t get it!

MarriedtoDaveGrohl · 16/10/2020 21:57

Oh haha I see this in my industry, curated collections.

And Tastemakers. 🤮🤮🤮. For fucks sake. The company that started doing this tosh are VC backed, have spent a fortune and made no money. Otherwise known as failing.

ChachiChichi · 16/10/2020 21:59

Totally with you!
Also 'ditsy applique' = flowery pattern
WHY?

skipperjonce · 16/10/2020 22:09

Double down 🤮

MabelFurball · 16/10/2020 22:09

Well I have been amazingly fortunate as Boots "hand picked" the Advantage vouchers they sent me. They must have loads of people working in that department if they are hand picking the vouchers 🤨

DragonPie · 17/10/2020 08:51

Sourced, no you just went shopping!

Red lip, I have two lips.

Pieces instead of clothes. They’re just clothes.

Yoloyohol · 18/10/2020 23:51

capsule collection?

"Samantha Cameron's fashion label has been accused of using a Covid-19 symptom tracking app to promote its luxurious £25 silk face masks.
The London-born wife of former prime minister David Cameron owns Cefinn, which recently released a new capsule collection of face coverings in support of The COVID Symptom Study. "

Apart from the dodgy dealings wtaf is a 'capsule collection'?

MrsDrudge · 19/10/2020 00:06

Not just sourced, but locally sourced. Meaning bought from the Co-Op round the corner.
