Just no. STOP!!!!

OP posts:
LunaNorth · 16/10/2020 15:04

YY to all the above, along with fucking ‘protein bowl’.

Which, as far as I can tell, means putting your chicken salad in a bowl instead of a plate and slinging a handful of birdseed over it, thereby justifying the £14.95 you’re going to charge.

Wank. Plenty of protein in that. Just saying.

CatsAndEyeliner · 16/10/2020 15:09

@CatsAndEyeliner organised, compiled, selected.
None of those work for a look though @ToastyCrumpet Wink

ZaraW · 16/10/2020 15:11

YANBU curated earrings is now a thing. Anyone who says/writes this is a tosser.

Squirrel26 · 16/10/2020 15:11

I also cannot fucking stand ‘showcase’.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/10/2020 15:13

One of my routine tasks is curating a scientific database. It really just means applying human intelligence to checking there isn't rubbish in it.Grin

[waves] Give me a clue which database. Maybe we know each other.
ErrolTheDragon · 16/10/2020 15:26

Oh, it's very niche and proprietary. (are those words ok?Grin)

From the corporate dictionary of wankery too

Andylion · 16/10/2020 15:29

@Xiaoxiong

It's the new "edit".

The Autumn Edit = you chose some things that seemed a bit autumnal

For some reason this really pisses me off.
TheOneWhoWalksInTheSun · 16/10/2020 15:30

It sounds awful to my ear outside of a discussion on art collection.

Also workshops belong to craftspeople.

Andylion · 16/10/2020 15:30

@Mochudubh

In one of the meetings I minute, "surfacing" is used a lot. It sounds wanky to me but as I've no idea how to translate it I have to let it stand.
How is used? WTF does it mean?
Andylion · 16/10/2020 15:32

@Mochudubh

They're not talking about whales or anything, I think it kind of means "finding"
But it doesn't mean finding. They are just completely making shit up.
Othering · 16/10/2020 15:34

@Averyyounggrandmaofsix

Can I add Circa?
Whats wrong with circa? It just means thereabouts.
Othering · 16/10/2020 15:35

Surfacing will just mean something like issues are arising.

iklboo · 16/10/2020 15:36

Circa is millennia old. Latin.

SeigneurLapindeGrantham · 16/10/2020 15:44

Pieces when someone's talking about a couple of tops hanging up in their wardrobe ugh

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 16/10/2020 15:51

"Shop the curated Winter collection" seen recently online somewhere. It's everything that's wrong with online shopping.

Queenest · 16/10/2020 15:54

Agree! And let’s also remove:

Price point - it’s just price ffs
3 colour ways - 3 colours!!
And
My bad - there are no words to describe how wrong this is

RelaisBlu · 16/10/2020 15:58

The phrase "lived experience" is everywhere now - isn't this a tautology? How is someone's "lived experience" different from their "experience"?

Mochudubh · 16/10/2020 16:07

@Othering

Surfacing will just mean something like issues are arising.
Yeah, something like that as in "The question we need to ask ourselves is how do we surface [the issue]" Usually IT related.

I genuinely have no clue so I just type it as it was said.

grassisjeweled · 16/10/2020 16:08

Bag of wank

madamsapple · 16/10/2020 16:11

'speaks to' and 'shine a light on'

oh and while we're at it, what was that all about Harry and Meghan 'shopping' their ideas to tv networks. Surely they were 'touting?'

BrightYellowDaffodil · 16/10/2020 16:12

It's up there with 'edit'.

As in 'Shop the Edit'. John Lewis, I'm looking at you.

Silveroriole · 16/10/2020 16:35

Critique!
What's wrong with criticise?

TheOneWhoWalksInTheSun · 16/10/2020 16:37
