to say......More decency, credibility and humanity in his little finger than in the whole of the Government put together.

Its not about " liking him". Its about maybe, just maybe he is a half decent human being. BJ and Cummings are the absolute pits. What has Dom got on BJ? Some ghastly sexual mishap no doubt.
BJ had the country with him and Dom and his eye test scuppered the whole thing.

RuffleCrow · 14/10/2020 16:47

I'd agree with you 100% - if only he admits he knows what a woman is!!

GetOffYourHighHorse · 14/10/2020 16:57

'Its not about " liking him". Its about maybe, just maybe he is a half decent human being. BJ and Cummings are the absolute pits. What has Dom got on BJ? Some ghastly sexual mishap no doubt.'

Oh op, like his politics, like his dramatic pauses and excitable press conferences just stop with the 'half decent human being' and 'integrity' guff. In the middle of a pandemic where every country is struggling he is in a very easy position to mudsling and he's certainly making the most of it.

I'd have thought if he had any 'integrity' he would have a word with the Labour Liverpool and GM mayors and encourage support, suggest that as their ICUs are filling up they put out some broadcasts about adhering to tier 2 and tier 3 rules instead of talking at length on Sky news about how they know better.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 14/10/2020 17:00

'BJ and Cummings are the absolute pits. What has Dom got on BJ? Some ghastly sexual mishap no doubt.'

You talk about decency and 'humanity' then come out with comments like this. Isn't this defamation? How can a person be 'the pits' anyway. It is usually a situation referred to in this way? Anyway.

Oh my - defamation? Grin. There is footage that shows Johnson arranging to have someone beaten up, he's a serial adulterer and has been sacked from at least 2 jobs for lying. People who have worked closely with him have described him as unfit for office. There is footage of him reciting a racist poem to himself and having to be reprimanded by an official like a child. His sloppiness and laziness is a big part of the reason why Nazinin Zaghari-Radcliffe is still imprisoned in Iran. All of this and more is in the public domain and yet you think it's defamation to say he's 'the pits'?? And people like you (going by one of your previous posts) voted for him because Corbyn was such an appalling prospect! I just don't get it.

And that's before we even start on Cummings' achievements...

GetOffYourHighHorse · 14/10/2020 17:22

'All of this and more is in the public domain and yet you think it's defamation to say he's 'the pits'??'

No, not to say he is 'the pits' Confused. To suggest someone 'has some ghastly sexual misshap' on someone else.

If only people could debate with humanity, decency and authenticity. Just like Sir Keith.

looseddaughter · 14/10/2020 17:22

Oooh, meant to add- the worst thing the RW press could dig up about Keir was that he bought his mum a donkey sanctuary and IF he sold it to a developer (he's not...) the land would be worth a lot of money! I think that speaks to his decency and humanity regardless of what you might think of his politics.

looseddaughter · 14/10/2020 17:25

Well I don't think it's controversial at all to think DC might have details of a sexual misdemeanor committed by Johnson - his reputation speaks for itself. Actually, I expect there's a lot worse to do with Russia, Johnson's best mate in Perugia and all that murky stuff.

And as for Sir Keith Grin Grin well, you've given yourself away there!

It's easy to mudsling when you have someone as arrogant as Johnson.

"World beating test and trace"

He really set himself up with that one - Boris is arrogant, pompous, likes to use meaningless phrases.

GrumblyMumblyisnotJumbly · 14/10/2020 17:43

@GetOffYourHighHorse Look here's your 'dream' team in action. Whitty's not looking pleased and Cummings has taken to wearing a Harold Shipman gilet!

defamation, my arse.

Well yes I am a Whitty fan but I wouldn't call them my dream team.

I can just see straight through Starmer’s grasping press conference, hanging on to the coat tails of an out of context recommendation by SAGE from 3 weeks ago, purely to cause division. He surely cannot believe a 2 week lockdown will be preferable rather than seeing if targeted restrictions work first?!

randomer · 14/10/2020 17:56

This might be a good time for some medics or cleaners or porters or admin staff or nurses to join in.......Oh no , they can't can they?

OP posts:
Fudgefeet · 14/10/2020 18:02

Seriously?
We don’t like the way our government is running the country so turn to the other party. They get elected, fuck everything up and then we go back to the first. And then it happens all over again and again and again.
I’m sick of the lot of them. And sick of the way people cling onto their words and depend on them to fix everything for us.

puffinsseagulls · 14/10/2020 18:03

YANBU he seems like a decent person and a competent adult. The problem is currently people prefer Boris because he's like a 'celeb' and was on the tv and cracks jokes. So Keir might look more plain in comparison but I know who I'd want as PM, especially in a crisis like now.

Yep - worth reminding ourselves (though some of us have never forgotten). The Bullingdon Shagaholic running the country - stuff of nightmares.

chomalungma · 14/10/2020 18:49

We have had targeted lockdowns for ages. Leicester has been in lockdown for ages.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-54423723

Have they worked?

Or do we need a short lockdown nationally to bring the R rate down and buy us time for winter - which will bring its own issues.

I suspect Boris won't do it - because it will look like he's backing down. His hubris will affect us all.

PolarBearr · 14/10/2020 19:21

TVF, my 4 year old son has more decency, credibility and humanity in his little finger than in the whole of the government put together. And I'd say he's about on a par with Starmer in terms of knowing what he's talking about.

PolarBearr · 14/10/2020 19:26

TBF not TVF

DollyDoneMore · 14/10/2020 19:29

@poshme

So he wants to shut down the whole country for 2-3weeks.

Some of us live in areas with very low cases. Why should we have to lockdown- killing businesses, when there are hardly any infections?

Because in 2-3 weeks time you will probably have loads of infections because the disease is highly contagious.

A Quiet Child? Definitely not!
