My daughter has done it so proud

Hello everyone.
I tried to find the previous thread on how proud I was of my daughter. But I cant seem to locate it.
Here is a little bit about her she is 9 years old loves to swim, saw that she could raise money to help people that needed help to raise money. She looked into this herself before asking of she could take part so she knew what she was doing and why.
Before lockdown happened she was training her hard to take part in a swimathon she swam and trained so hard well the weekend of the event we all went to lock down she was absolutely devastated. It was postponed until Autumn. She was worried she had worked so hard to raise money cake sales at school, jobs around, once the pools opened back up she wanted to get straight back in the water. I reminded my daughter its ok ill take time 6months no swimming is a big break.
Well yesterday PM she completed her swim she swam 2.5k (100lenghs) in 81mins.
She was so proud! I was so proud! she said it would be something she will never forget. Everyone we have spoken to have said that she is amazing and a star
We knew she would do it but I want to tell as many people as I can im so proud.
Plus she slept very well last night

Ps this is not a asking page this is just so I can shout from the top of the hill....

There you go - there’s always someone with an unnecessary comment and today’s winner is Floatyboat. It almost beggars belief that someone can think it acceptable to make a dig at what is a wonderful achievement by a little girl.
A huge well done to your daughter - I don’t mind admitting that I’m all but done in after 10 lengths, never mind 80. Both you and her deserve to be very proud
@itchyfinger she has raised £700 out of her target for £500 so absolutely smashed it
That's fantastic! You're right. She really smashed i. Whether it is for her aim on how much she wanted to raise or for her swimming.
WELL DONE!

Jesus wept, she's 9, could you be more of a twat?

What's your time for 2.5 raising money for charity?

@Clairelacey9110. She's a ⭐️ I'm VERY impressed with her doing 100 lengths, but even more so with her doing this, for others, off her own back! She's lovely .

saw that she could raise money to help people that needed help to raise money.

Could you explain this a bit more? I know you emphasised that this isn't a thread asking for donations, but I wondered what she was raising money for.

PossiblyPattio · 11/10/2020 10:21

Puzzled me too. Along with the name change.
Clairelacey9110 · 11/10/2020 10:35

@MsStillwell it was to raise money for cancer research and marie curie she looked into it and saw it can help saves lives by putting money into find new medicines and ways of beating it. Her goal was to be able to help cover the cost of a nurse for each charity for a day.

Thankyou all for your amazing comments. Thankyou all for reading and replying its made my week I couldnt ask for anymore
Thankyou Grin

Well done OP's dd. Brilliant.
@Floatyboat hope you get a leak!

OwlBeThere · 11/10/2020 10:54

Amazing!! I did something similar at her age (I think it was 100 laps of my pool, and if definitely took way longer than 81mins 😂, I was built for endurance not speed!!) and I still remember the feeling of climbing out, I couldn’t feel my arms, I couldn’t see straight but I was so happy!!
She will remember this for a long time and she should be super proud of herself Star
