I've relented.

I've let the big, slobbery, smelly and gorgeous 4 legged thing that we call a dog get up on the settee with me.

He's settled down with a HUGE contented with his head on my lap and I've spent the last half hour stroking his silken ears.

DH thinks I'm a soft touch, I think DH is jealous!

AIBU??

Ours is only allowed on the sofa when we are actually on it with him. Otherwise he has a tendency to chew it (leather) or try to dig holes in it.

My princess is ABSOLUTELY not allowed on the sofa...😝

I have a cat, not had the pleasure of a dog yet.

But surely the point in all furry pets is to be cuddle buddies.

My lab is asleep next to me on the sofa. Other lab is asleep on my 20 yr olds bed

My Basset does not understand where this strange concept of "not allowed" could possibly have come from.......

He’s beautiful, OP. Mine is a yellow too. YANBU to let him on the sofa. Mine is allowed up on sofas too, he’s sleeping next to me, as I type. In fact, he has his own sofa in the kitchen. He isn’t allowed upstairs though, so I can pretend to be tough on some things.

My DH is the opposite to yours, he’d let our dog all over the house .

I sleep in the spare room now because I snore. Kind Ddog sleeps with me because I snore less than DH!

She thinks she can take on horses or polar bears or lions (that she sees on tv), and I remind her she can't sleep without being tucked in...

Mines in the window. On the ridiculously expensive pillow dh bought her to sleep in there. (Yes I may have made a tweed cover for it). But she wedges herself between me and dh at night, as tight as she can in the small of my back. I can’t sleep if I’m touching another human, but she’s ok.

This is my doggy nephew.

Couch snuggles are so sweet!

Our youngest dog is on the cusp of growing out of his puppy craziness (I hope), so you never know if you're going to get sweet cuddles or a wild beast who tries to nibble your toes between alarmingly violent displays of the zoomies.

My cat like to pretends she doesn't like cuddles. When she does agree to settle on my lap it would take a house fire before I moved her.

We got a dog on the condition (set by my dad) that he would absolutely never get on the furniture...
...I suppose I'll sit elsewhere now!

Yanbu. One of mine is next to me now.

I want to let them in the bed but they are pisstakers and spread out all over the bed - and one is 60-70kg - so no one gets any sleep.
