I've relented.

I've let the big, slobbery, smelly and gorgeous 4 legged thing that we call a dog get up on the settee with me.

He's settled down with a HUGE contented with his head on my lap and I've spent the last half hour stroking his silken ears.

DH thinks I'm a soft touch, I think DH is jealous!

Its a wonder he hasn’t called the RSPCA before now to complain 🤣

Link has been allowed on the sofa since day one, until he was reliably house trainer he slept in his penned off area. But now he regularly gets in with us after his early morning wee, so we have the cat who always sleeps by my head, Link who usually chooses somewhere really awkward, my son and my partner. Luckily the bed is a superking!

One of mine chilling in the garden during lockdown, i work with animals all day yet there is nothing that relaxes me more than snuggling up with my boys in the evenings.

Ours is currently on ds2's lap on the sofa. He's always on the sofa. Not on beds though, he has his own bed downstairs. He's an 11 month old Prince (Jack Russell)

My sausage sleeps in my bed and keeps my feet warm. I love her to bits!

Best part of the day, DS in bed, dog (Black lab) on sofa. However the traitorous dog does mostly opt to cuddle DH and I usually get the bum end. We started off not allowing him on the furniture but relented years ago. He always asks permission though (if we’re in the room). Otherwise just helps himself and is always to be found in my spot in the morning when we come downstairs.

Human + dog + sofa = bliss.

My dog lying on the floor is an alien concept to both me and the dog.

Perfectly normal to have lovelies on the sofa, we bought another sofa so DH had his, I have mine and the two get to choose who to snuggle up with.

Only issue is when spaniel does the head, lap, hand nudge and gets splodges of flobby dog lip on my iPad. Very. Smeary.

Btw op tell your DH that you are only a soft touch if you are hand feeding bits of cooked chicken into his mouth whilst cuddled up on the sofa. Caught DH doing this the other day....

Mine is small enough to snuggle on a lap. She loves a cuddle, especially when the weather gets colder. Here she is tucked up with DH.

I force my dog onto the sofa to give me cuddles in the evening!! He is like a little hot water bottle 😁

Ours loves nothing more than cuddles.
He really is the cuddliest dog we've ever had. He wants to near you/next to you/on you! We adore him

Lolloping on the sofa of an evening with a dog snuggling up is sheer bliss.
My dog has always been allowed on the sofa. He’s a very big golden retriever. It’s a leather sofa, now looking a bit scratched!

Our gorgeous girl snuggles up on my lap at every opportunity. It’s one of life’s great joys.

We have a blanket of permission which means the sofa is only permissible if the specific blanket is covering it. She transforms from working, hunting, beast to ball of fluff.

My girl sleeps in my bed, and she absolutely loves a spoon (and is sometimes willing to be big spoon).

We have never allowed dogs on the sofa, until this one...After a long walk she loves cuddles with her cuddly toy..

Mine is currently flat out on my bed. He has free access to everywhere and is super happy. (Whippet so doesn't shed much and not smelly)
