Nc for this as may be outing.
Dh went to london yesterday on train and returned about 11pm.
On the return he saw the Head of the pre-order at my son's school with 3 friends - 2 ladies and 2 men altogether- all without masks and drinking from cans of g&t.
This is a £30k a year prep school, not that it should make any difference. But the head gets a lot of shit, because everyone pays they expect so much.
I'm inclined not to say anything, but wondered what would mn do?

@motherrunner It depends how how much the fees are for your school. If you work in a state school I’m not sure if that would be better or worse for the OP.

I got the train into central a few weeks ago for the weekend. Wore my mask in.
For the train home on the Sunday I bought lots of drinks and snacks PURELY so that I didn’t have to wear a mask. I wasn’t hungry although I was quite thirsty. There were 3 other people on my carriage, all sitting far away from each other. I hope lots of parents saw me - their children are the reason I have to drink at the weekends and they should know it Grin
(I am of course joking, ‘those’ parents and the shambolic government are the real reason Wink )

@motherrunner

I’m a secondary school teacher.

Let me get this straight. It’s fine for me to teach 150 pupils a day without either me or them wearing a mask, but if I’m in public, socially distancing in my group of 6 and drinking then I’m a pariah? 🤔

No. According to OP the pariahs are those who teach at private £30k per year prep schools.

This is because she is paying for the privilege of wishing to dictate what happens in their private time and wants to apply her own imaginary set of rules. 🤣😉

@SabrinaThwaite

So I’d be annoyed they couldn’t wait until they were at least out of the train before getting stuck into drinks.

I hope your judgey pants are pearl encrusted so that you can simultaneously hoist and clutch.

Totally off topic Sabrina but your comment made me guffaw so loudly my dogs came rushing through to check me out. Nicking this.

This is just one of those idiotic bitch fest threads where everyone collectively pretends to be stupid. OP didn't imagine the set of rules. There's a global pandemic on at the moment. You're meant to wear a mask on the train. Drinking a G&T isn't an excuse for not wearing a mask for very obvious reasons. It's not judgy to expect people to wear masks it's mandatory. OP didn't make up that rule. Read the news!

The prep school obviously has nothing to do with it. I'd actually suspect this is someone making it up because they anticipated how easy it is to rile up the MN hoards!

How DARE you. I am offended. I will be ringing your headteacher in due course.
SabrinaThwaite · 10/10/2020 18:47

@TheShepherdsCrown I nicked it from another MNer, it's always good to share Smile

TheChosenTwo · 10/10/2020 19:17

@Storyoftonight please do, he’d love to hear about it - I think he probably drinks even more than I do Grin Grin
