Noisy hotel room

Bouncingbelle · 08/10/2020 23:15

Staying in lovely hotel suite as birthday treat. Is also cos I have a non verbal toddler on the asd pathway who wakes for hours EVERY night. This is literally my first (and only) night off in over 2 years.
The room next door is blaring music. All I want to do is sleep. I could go lie on the couch but this is my ONE chance to have a full nights sleep. When is reasonable to call reception and ask them to get them to turn it down?!

Now. I hope you get some peace.

Lemoncordial · 08/10/2020 23:17

Do it now. Selfish fuckers.

gillybombilly · 08/10/2020 23:18

Do it now to nip it in the bud, especially if it’s been going on for a while. I’m sure reception will be understanding and help you, especially with a child in the room - good luck.

Ulpo · 08/10/2020 23:18

Now.

Ilikewinter · 08/10/2020 23:21

Yes phone now!

Sparklesocks · 08/10/2020 23:23

Call!

She doesn't have the child in the room, it's her one & only night off!

However I would say that it would have been perfectly reasonable to complain an hour ago!!

henrykissingher · 08/10/2020 23:24

arseholes. phone now

WishingOnACarrot · 08/10/2020 23:24

Now - best of luck OP

AHintOfStyle · 08/10/2020 23:25

Phone reception, demand a room move, bang on the wall! How dare they spoil this for you!!

AdoptAdaptImprove · 08/10/2020 23:34

Do it now. It’s a weeknight, people will be bound to need to get up for work tomorrow so it’s perfectly reasonable to expect sleepable conditions by now. Don’t be fobbed off - either they shut the wankers up, or move you to a quiet room.

DeliciouslyFemale · 08/10/2020 23:38

It wouldn’t matter if it was five in the afternoon! You shouldn’t have to listen to music from someone else’s hotel room.

Bouncingbelle · 08/10/2020 23:56

Its blaring. I'm sitting here in tears. Reception have now been out 3 times and cant find which room it is coming from so "cant knock the door incase it's the wrong one" (but currently outside trying to see if they can find it from there. I'm about to go try to find them myself and I swear to god I am on the verge of cracking up.

Reception need to try harder.

Gancanny · 09/10/2020 00:01

If reception can't figure out which room it is then they need to move you somewhere quieter and comp you something for the inconvenience.

AHintOfStyle · 09/10/2020 00:01

Absolutely reception need to try harder. And if they can't then they need to find you a different room for the rest of the night and refund you.

Audreyseyebrows · 09/10/2020 00:04

How awful. Hope they get it sorted soon.
Can you ask reception for ear plugs? Not ideal but at least you’ll get some peace.

FantasticRik1 · 09/10/2020 00:05

How awful for you OP. They need to move you.

FantasticRik1 · 09/10/2020 00:05

Happy birthday by the way Flowers

Bouncingbelle · 09/10/2020 00:05

I got to the room at the same time as reception. The music is now off. So now all I can hear is the couple stomping about and yelling at each other. I hate them. I literally hate them.

OP posts:
HibiscusNell · 09/10/2020 00:06

That’s awful. I really hope it gets turned off quickly. People that play music in hotels are ignorant idiots.

Gancanny · 09/10/2020 00:06

Ring reception and complain again about this noise, the more you push them then the more likely it is they'll actually do their jobs and fix it.

Bouncingbelle · 09/10/2020 00:07

I could demand a room move but I really cant face it at this time of night :(

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 09/10/2020 00:15

At least get compensation- refund

TheHighestSardine · 09/10/2020 00:17

Get moved. You're going to be up for the next half hour anyway, move rooms.
