Noisy hotel room

Staying in lovely hotel suite as birthday treat. Is also cos I have a non verbal toddler on the asd pathway who wakes for hours EVERY night. This is literally my first (and only) night off in over 2 years.
The room next door is blaring music. All I want to do is sleep. I could go lie on the couch but this is my ONE chance to have a full nights sleep. When is reasonable to call reception and ask them to get them to turn it down?!

I hope you are asleep now.

Before 11pm. I would want a refund for this. The hotel sound lethargic about sorting it all out

Sounds appalling. It's so annoying spending lots of money to get away for a break only to discover that your hotel room is next to inconsiderate arseholes. On our last very rare break, they gave us the room right next to the elevator shaft, part of the room was actually partitioned off / built around the elevator shaft, you could hear it moving every time someone used t and then the sound of people laughing/shouting etc as they got on and off. It should never have been a room, probably more like a cleaners supply room etc. We demanded a room change but then got moved to an even worse room (long story) and spent the next 3 nights being awoken every 2 hours by banging/machinery kitchen noise. It was awful, so disappointing when you have come away for a break from life and kids etc.
I hope you got it sorted and they refunded or made it up to you. If not, I would leave an honest review online.
