I never ache

ssd · 06/10/2020 22:29

And I'm fat

Jennygentle · 06/10/2020 22:30

It’s probably menopausal. I ache loads too. I’m seriously considering getting HRT.

Fallsballs · 06/10/2020 22:30

I ache a lot unfortunately.

Leimarel · 06/10/2020 22:30

I'm a bit older than you and I don't ache. Maybe you should get a health check just in case?

Wilkolampshade · 06/10/2020 22:32

I felt the same OP, bloods taken, turns out vitamin D deficient.
3 weeks Vitamin D3... feel hugely better. No more rubbing awful achey painful joints. X.

Strugglingtodomybest · 06/10/2020 22:33

I'm 48 and I'm always aching! At the moment it's my ankle from falling down a step and twisting it slightly, and my shoulders from the dogs pulling on their leads. Oh, and my hips from Pilates.

Nsky · 06/10/2020 22:33

My left knee aches sometimes, nothing aches all the time.
New meds made my feet ache and inflamed lose dose sorted.
Side effect of meds inflamed hand tho, and 3 rings sizes up.
All to sort my very nasty post menopasal depression, I hate it, hormones yuk

fruitpastille · 06/10/2020 22:33

I'm not 50 but I have little niggles here and there - joints are a bit stiff in the morning or if I've been sitting around for a while. Doesn't stop me doing anything though.

FarTooSkinny · 06/10/2020 22:34

Do you also make noises when getting up from the sofa? Wear comfortable slacks and sensible shoes? Like a nice mug of ovaltine before bed?

If so, I am sorry, there is no hope.

Rangoon · 06/10/2020 22:34

I found out I was low in vitamin D. I have a prescription for one tablet a month. It's not water soluble so it's important not to overdose. I feel much less achey now than I did before.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 06/10/2020 22:35

I’m 46 and my lower back aches sometimes. I have a nasty feeling that it’s the start of osteoarthritis as my Mum had it ( and it’s hereditary).☹️ But, I’m also going to try a Vitamin D supplement as my neighbor, mid-50s, has told me they worked wonders. Fingers crossed.

fruitpastille · 06/10/2020 22:35

My vit d was deficient but I was given a loading dose followed by taking a good size supplement for a year or two and I'm still the same.

Destinysdaughter · 06/10/2020 22:35

Apparently turmeric tablets can help with aches, according to the reviews I've seen on Amazon

samosamimosa · 06/10/2020 22:36

I used to ache, my thigh muscles would ache massively and I'd get paraethesia , it turned out I was vitamin b deficient, it went after the menopause and now I'm ache free.

GiraffeNecked · 06/10/2020 22:36

@Rangoon what strength is the dose you take?

I ache, it’s the menopause I think. I’m a bit overweight but not hugely.

Boopear · 06/10/2020 22:37

I ache Sad... things that used to be sorted by a day of rest, a hot bath or a bit of physio now just sort of hang around for ages (or never go - am looking at you, rotar cuff) But I have found that doing one strength session for every cardio one helps (strong core seemsto have become a lot more vital) . And pilates. And taking a rest (non exercise) day or two or even three when I am even a tiny bit sore (still not figured out how to not feel guilty about it..).

pontiouspilates · 06/10/2020 22:37

I ache! I run, do weights and Pilates but I've always got a 'niggle' somewhere.

DrEllie · 06/10/2020 22:38

I go to the gym lots. Recently had lots of aches in legs which are new. About to turn 50. Tbh I wondered if it was long Covid

Savemyusername · 06/10/2020 22:38

I am late 50s and I ached for years when I reached 50, especially in my lower back and I was living on painkillers. Weirdly I don’t ache at all any more. It stopped about a year ago and I have no idea why.

TheNavigator · 06/10/2020 22:38

I only ache with DOMS if I have varied/intensified my exercise programme. I don't routinely ache otherwise - I am on HRT.

CrotchetyQuaver · 06/10/2020 22:39

Well I ached a lot and was always twanging things when I was doing exercise classes several times a week. I do take a high dose of vitamin D. Now I'm not doing the classes I'm fatter than before but I don't ache. I'm quite active generally, got a lively terrier to walk and horses to look after but none of that makes me ache, just the exercise classes.

notacooldad · 06/10/2020 22:39

I'm 55 and a little,well a bit more than little overweight.
I havent got any aches. I wasn't expecting to have any just yet though.

Leaannb · 06/10/2020 22:41

Get tour vitamin levels checked. This sounds like Vitamin D deficiency

PickAChew · 06/10/2020 22:42

I ache a lot but I'm hypermobile and most of my joints are knackered. Nursing a sore, clicky fucking collarbone, tonight (amongst other things)
