Perhaps he is bored of it or has gone off it. You can still make it for those that like it.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 05/10/2020 08:38

Just make it without the tuna 🤷‍♀️ we try to not eat meat a few days a week so our go to is pasta bake but instead of any flesh, we chuck in a couple of handfuls of frozen peppers. It's lush.

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 05/10/2020 08:39

i might have to

Could you not put tuna in one portion of the pasta bake. It’s pretty funny that he hasn’t been able to tell you this in 8 years. I live with DH and 2 adult DSs. I sometimes cook 3 different variations, like more chilli for one, no onions for another, stupid I know. The most fussy is my youngest son who now mainly cooks for himself.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 05/10/2020 08:42

I agree with him - hot tuna, just no!

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 05/10/2020 08:43

and i thought my ds was fussy, not eating sweetcorn or peas

a couple of different types might work

Maybe he’s realised that hot tuna is disgusting 😉

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 05/10/2020 08:45

What does he make?

Youngatheart00 · 05/10/2020 08:49

I love tuna pasta bake!! Esp with plenty of melted cheese Grin

MoonJelly · 05/10/2020 08:53

Try something else in the pasta, e.g. fresh salmon?

Oldraver · 05/10/2020 08:56

I dislike hot tuna. I dont mind tuna/mayonnaise then mixed into pasta but cooking it is bluegh

Salmon would be better

CatBatCat · 05/10/2020 08:59

How is risotto any different from tuna bake? Its still hot tuna with starch. Horrible. Give it to the cats.

Seeline · 05/10/2020 09:02

Make it in advance. He can have his portion cold, everyone else can shove it in the microwave.

I agree, hot tuna is 🤮

PrincessPain · 05/10/2020 09:02

I don't like hot tuna.
I let my portion cool down, and then fridge it and eat it cold later.
I know it might mess up his meal times, but it might be a better option.
DH prefers warm tuna so will eat it freshly cooked.
Just an option for him.

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 05/10/2020 09:04

i could suggest that @PrincessPain

Love tuna pasta bake, but it has to have scrunched up crisps on top with the cheese 🤤. Really want some now

52andblue · 05/10/2020 09:12

I don't like hot tuna much either.

I often make a 'deconstructed' meal as have 2 dcs with ASD.
So, I might make bolognaise with the onions on the side, for dd.
Or shepherds pie with the mash and meat/veg mix served separately.

Could you make a creamy pasta and serve dh, then stir in some tuna and bake it for the others?

52andblue · 05/10/2020 09:13

I don't bake my tuna pasta as the kids don't like it 'crispy'.
So, it's just pasta, tuna and soft chees: boring!!! sometimes I get away with sweetcorn and peas (usually on the side though). Ho hum...

BarbaraofSeville · 05/10/2020 09:15

Let DH think of something that suits everyone's tastes and dietary requirements. His turn to do some of the difficult thinking.

GetUpAgain · 05/10/2020 09:16

He's been eating it for years, I'd say

A) he can suck it up and continue eating it
B) he can cover it in chilli sauce and continue eating it
C) he can plan and cook something else which everyone will enjoy and is healthy and cheap.

DH moans if we have tuna pasta bake but its one of DC favourites and I find it unstressful to cook. So its tough shit for DH, and guess what, he always eats it anyway...

contrmary · 05/10/2020 09:17

Just make the pasta with minced beef and a tomato sauce, with cheese on top. The pescatarians can just eat the pasta/tomato part, everyone happy.

Craftycorvid · 05/10/2020 09:18

I love a TP bake. Takes me back to student days. As pp have suggested, just make the pasta base and have two portions, one with tuna and one without. My DH won’t touch tuna so that’s what we do.

doadeer · 05/10/2020 09:19

I think hot tuna is one of the only things I genuinely hate. I remember being a kid and going to a friends for dinner and I was almost gagging eating it... But I didn't want to be impolite!

Can you not just portion off some of his without tuna?

Or make fish cakes with the canned tuna?
