My DC loves tuna mayo pasta. Cold tuna mayo on warm pasta with sweetcorn.

Spam88 · 05/10/2020 09:26

Just dish his up before you add the tuna? He can have his unbaked for being an awkward bastard.

Or if you like it I'd just keep making it tbh, but perhaps I can sometimes be unnecessarily spiteful over meals 😂

diddl · 05/10/2020 09:30

Tuna, mayo & pasta, maybe sweetcorn is the way to go imo.

That's tuna pasta to us-no baking!

mrsm43s · 05/10/2020 09:33

Tell him he can make himself something else on the days you are cooking tuna pasta bake.

Elizaaa · 05/10/2020 09:33

I'd continue making it, and if he wants something different, he can make it himself.

I always thought hot tuna sounded disgusting, until I had a menu del dia without knowing what it was and it was tuna in a tomato sauce on pasta, and it was delicious. Same with tuna empanada/pie. Delicious.

chocolatespiders · 05/10/2020 09:33

We have it cold for Lunches.

MidnightFlit · 05/10/2020 09:41

Hot tuna can be grim but it's not on the same bleeeugh scale as smoked salmon thrown into hot pasta till it turns opaque and flabby and Envy.

M&S tuna fish cakes are nice though.

notso · 05/10/2020 09:42

I've only ever made it once and nobody was keen, it was really sickly.
I like tuna fried rice though.

Fish pie is my go to fish meal, followed by fishcakes.

However if DH doesn't fancy what I've cooked he provides something else for himself.

marmite79 · 05/10/2020 09:44

Sorry OP this did make me laugh. I’ve been with oh for 8 years and he’s often randomly said he doesn’t like things he’s been eating for years 🤣

Could he just have pasta without the tuna?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 05/10/2020 09:46

Make a tuna pasta salad.
Cooked pasta
Tuna
Cucumber
Tomato
Olives
Chick peas
Pesto, olive oil and lemon juice

I would add baby spinach but one of the DC wouldn’t eat it.

IntermittentParps · 05/10/2020 09:52

Tell him to feel free to fucking cook.

Scaraffito · 05/10/2020 09:56

Just dish his pasta out before adding the tuna? He can then add what he wants to it, I suspect as he will have to do something he will mysteriously start liking tuna again. Pasta, tuna, sliced tomatoes, red onion, spinach and cheese is absolutely next level.

FayleWatersWaters · 05/10/2020 10:02

When it gets to the adding tuna stage, could you just separate your DH's portion out and mix some chopped ham or chicken or some cheese through instead?
I do this with one of my DDs who's a bit of a fussy eater. Those 'u' shaped smoked sausages work too, but obviously they're heavily processed/not healthy (and possibly a bit of a childish option).!

Regularsizedrudy · 05/10/2020 10:22

And why is he incapable of cooking his own meal?
