To start divorce proceedings because my "D"H said this?

My "D"H just said to me, in all seriousness and with no hint of irony, "I don't normally try to solutionize, but....."
I didn't let him finish his sentence before asking him WTF is solutionize? He is in a technical profession and when interrogated about his verbal crime against humanity, he said it does actually get used at work.
He doesn't normally come out with corporate bullshit so this came right out of the blue.
I told him I could never take anything he said seriously again and that I was going to solutionize my aching back by taking my cup of tea back to bed.
Should I LTB?

I would immediately is he normally a plonker 😃 Dh has a habit of coming away with "not my circus" Hmm

IckyPop · 03/10/2020 11:05

He can be but we have laughed and taken the piss out of corporate speak many times so I feel I don't know him any more!
Not my circus - WTAF is that about? Is he a juggler?

Definitely LTB. That’s like “diarise”, which makes me angry. 😬

Oysterbabe · 03/10/2020 11:11

This is the ad I get on your post. Just sayin'.

My husband has used 'hit the ground running' and 'a cheeky wine' (or cheeky something I tried not to listen too) too many times for my liking, as in once is too much

I used my 'look'

Ugh that's just so unnecessary. Why, oh why?Grin

Perhaps let this one go but if he ever talks about giving you the heads up about anything, get on the phone to your solicitor immediately.

HyacynthBucket · 03/10/2020 11:17

At least, "At the end of the day" seems to have gone to sleep now.

My dh comes out with these things all the time. He also likes Celine Dion and watching X factor. What am I doing?

I see your point, benefit of the doubt, but I fear it's the start of a slippery slope.

True. I think "going forward" replaced this though. There's always a new bullshit term waiting in the wings.

As long as he does not use "let's circle back to that"

rainingallspring · 03/10/2020 11:22

My dh says 'carve out some time'.

Karwomannghia · 03/10/2020 11:22

What was he solutionizing? Hoping it was something very trivial, like cracking a nut with a sledgehammer

Does he "run it up the flagpole" or "put a pin in it"?

Divorce would be the humane solution. New patio also an option.

Crystal1975 · 03/10/2020 11:26

Mine said “I’ll get into the bones of it and call u back” the other day about a project he was pricing 🙈

Just fuck off u complete bellend 🤣
I’m currently getting my ducks in a row 🤣🤣🤣

When I have a moan about something (not to do with him) he will try to fix it for me, rather than just listening and sympathising, and I have said to him in the past please don't fix it, just listen etc. So when I complained about my aching back this morning and he suggested a foot stool when sitting at my desk so I'm not balancing on my chair (I'm short). He then said "I try not to solutionize..." So, he was just trying to help I suppose....

These are wonderful. My husband always uses the words "drill down" when I'm on google maps. AArgh and all the talk of companies being agile.

Chewbecca · 03/10/2020 11:29

You could print off a bullshit bingo board and get a reward when completed?

(Corporate bullshit worker here: it's poor practice to jump straight to solutionising, if you haven't clearly articulated the problem and the aims, you're not ready to start designing a solution).

Presumably he'll he applying for the next season of the apprentice with talk like that so maybe wait it out and see if he wins first haha
