Instagram Giveaway fail

I’ll see the funny side of this eventually but I did my first giveaway recently and the draw was yesterday. It was for adoption of a resident at a wildlife sanctuary local to me, was surprisingly popular (I thought it might not do very well). Video chatted with the winner and she was crying with happiness, it was so touching. I felt so happy that it meant such a great deal to her. Until she asked about how we would transport a raptor across Europe 🧐

Everyone thinks it’s hilarious because the wording was so explicit- winner chooses an animal who remains a resident of the sanctuary and receives an adoption certificate and photographs and regular updates and an open ticket to visit.

Super busy day today but please vote: YANBU this was unforeseeable or YABU obviously people would expect to win an actual Red Kite or whatever

They make a kind of screechy bird sound. There's one in my garden right now although he is not making any noise.

I have always been slightly miffed that a) adopting a tiger doesn’t mean it comes to live with me and b) dh won’t let me have a tiger anyway.

I have a recurring fantasy in which the postman stops complaining about random loose spaniels that aren’t even mine because he encounters my adopted tiger instead one day

Cut your hair into a mullet and go all threatening and Tiger-King-ish at her. Keep calling her Carole Baskin and telling her you know she killed her husband.

I reckon she’ll stop contacting you.

Oh god, having flashbacks to when I was a kid and cried when our horse won the grand national. I was really concerned about how we would fit it in our car boot! Sorry I don’t understand this post- please explain!

@CovidAgain I misunderstood the prize for picking the winning horse - I thought we had won the actual horse! I loved animals and was very upset as I knew it was too large to fit in our car for transport home so I was worried about what would happen to it. Never mind that we lived in a fairly small suburban home with accompanying small garden - not sure what I thought would happen next even if we had a bigger car! 😂

Though the tiger might see the spaniels as a hors d’oeuvre before he eats the postman...
