Here is an article that I was just looking at online:
"Ancient cultures considered a woman’s menstrual blood sacred. In fact, blood potency deemed the idea of flushing female blood down a toilet, or throwing it in the garbage, absurd; however, over time, women were taught that their natural bodily fluids were sinful, dirty, and worthy of shame. This is why today, when women have their periods, it is a secret or they rush to the bathroom to hide their feminine products. To embrace your moon cycle and to understand its potency is every woman’s birthright.
In ancient times, women’s menstrual cycles were in sync with one another. Women would sit and bleed together, using this time to nourish themselves and each other. During their menstrual cycles, women used introspection to bring forth manifestations. It was also common for men, elders, and children to give women their own space to sit with themselves. Today, women have been disconnected from their cycles."
I know that many people are not into spirituality, so when I write this it is just my opinion, and please think whatever you want.
I read something in a book that really resonated with me. It said that menstrual blood is so precious and important, and that it is very wrong for us to be flushing it down a toilet, or putting it into the bin. That it is much better for us to collect it into a moon cup, and pour it onto plants on the Earth.
Some might say that is weird, but I think that constantly having to hide our periods, and then collecting menstrual blood on pads, and throwing them into the rubbish, is weird.
I sometimes hate to think of my precious blood in the rubbish bin , with actual rubbish.
I am going to try this on my next period, collect the blood, and pour it onto plants in the garden.
It is hard for me to even write this, as like us all I have been conditioned to: not talk about my periods, and to not talk about spirituality (because some one will think that spirituality is crazy). But I am going to write it anyway
