To be annoyed he woke me up with a bloody accordion

My turn to lie in this morning. I have barely slept all week and look so exhausted it is getting my down. I couldn’t wait to get in bed and have a good night sleep.
Now when it is my turn to get up with our dd (3) I get her up, take her downstairs and have breakfast and try not to disturb dp. Him? Stayed playing in her room and let her play with a toy accordion waking me up at 8am. I’ll be honest I am raging. Came down with a stinking headache and said I am annoyed at you for being so inconsiderate. His response was ‘she wanted to play with her accordion’. She is 3, tell her mummy is sleeping and go get bloody breakfast instead of pissing about for an hour. Grrrr.

YANBU - can you suggest that you get another crack at it tomorrow?

ChickensMightFly · 26/09/2020 10:13

That's is so inconsiderate and his reply is so pathetic and thoughtless it adds insult to injury. I'd be really annoyed and depending on how exhausted I was, furious. At least if he'd had an 'oh, so sorry, I wasn't thinking' type reply that would have been better.
If be tempted to clear off for the day and get some peace and quiet. A nice solo walk up a hill would enable me to feel less murderous.

AnneLovesGilbert · 26/09/2020 10:14

YANBU. Selfish twat. Your lie in again tomorrow. Hope you get some rest and feel better soon.

forrestgreen · 26/09/2020 10:16

Guess what happens next daddy lie in day..

Seventybillionnamechanges · 26/09/2020 10:17

Hmm may I suggest a drum kit for next time he’s due a lie in

peoniesandfreesias · 26/09/2020 10:17

Well you either get a long lie tomorrow morning or your DD will "want to play with it" again tomorrow morning, won't she?!

Anordinarymum · 26/09/2020 10:19

What a selfish twat. I would remove the accordion pronto

LouHotel · 26/09/2020 10:20

If he's truly sorry you'll be having a lie in tomorrow, if he doesn't care then I would be retaliating and dont care if that's childish sometimes adults dont learn until you do.

Iwantacookie · 26/09/2020 10:21

Ide shove the accordion where the sun dont shine tbh

CalmdownJanet · 26/09/2020 10:24

If it's his turn tomorrow I'd tell him not a chance he is getting it, he ruined yours then you get his. If he loses out he might think twice next time she wants to play something loud and not be lazy and just let her

Findmeonetsy · 26/09/2020 10:25

You know when you are so tired you just want to cry? He’s been shouting and swearing at me, saying I have ruined the weekend and saying to my dd “mummy is going back to bed”. No I’m not I’m awake now and so angry. Fuming that he was involving dd.
Yeah agreed if he had apologised I probably would be angry for a bit then let it go after I’d had a coffee, as I don’t want the weekend ruined either. Had such a crappy week with work

Only death is good enough for him.

Nottherealslimshady · 26/09/2020 10:27

He needs to recognise the difference between what you do and what he does.
Just do the same to him tomorrow? Or is that petty? Maybe tell you daughter the night before next weekend that mummy is very tired and needs a lie in so please when she gets up with daddy go downstairs and be quiet.

namechangeinamillion · 26/09/2020 10:28

He was shouting and swearing at you in front of your 3yo?!

nosswith · 26/09/2020 10:28

An opportunity missed to ingrain in a child the importance of being quiet early in the morning- 'DD not now, it's too early, if you are good you can play it at 10am'.

Idiot.

june2007 · 26/09/2020 10:28

8am isn,t that early, annoying but not worth raging about.

madcatladyforever · 26/09/2020 10:30

He's actually super selfish and has done this on purpose, nobody would behave like this otherwise.
He resents being made to look after his own child and getting out of bed early because clearly that is womens work and he is a giant toddler.
Its his way of showing you he resents this.
Either that or he hasn't a clue. but that awful behaviour swearing and shouting in front of your three year old and involving her in this argument - disgusting behaviour. I wouldn't be with a man like that, he'd be dumped.

SerenityNowwwww · 26/09/2020 10:31

When’s his next ‘sleep in’? May I suggest getting a drum kit for the occasion?

Nquartz · 26/09/2020 10:33

Yup, unfortunately he just doesn't seem to give a shit about you
Findmeonetsy · 26/09/2020 10:34

I know I have just had enough this morning. It’s always turned round on me. Just want to cry, dd was saying “why is daddy shouting at you” :( did he expect me to come down all cheery and say ‘morning!!’??

CigarsofthePharoahs · 26/09/2020 10:35

He's lucky he didn't get the accordion shoved where the sun don't shine.

FourDecades · 26/09/2020 10:36

So what's your plan OP so you get another lie in?

MusicWithRocksIn1t · 26/09/2020 10:38

Think its time you started teaching your DD some advanced wrestling moves or rugby tackles by practicing on Daddy tomorrow morning during 'his' long lie.
Failing that perhaps some shot put (probably spelt wrong) with said accordion?

iklboo · 26/09/2020 10:38

Sneak in on his next lie in, phone on full volume & play 'You Give Love A Bad Name'. The opening 'Shot through the heart' should have him stuck to the ceiling like Tom.
