To be annoyed he woke me up with a bloody accordion

My turn to lie in this morning. I have barely slept all week and look so exhausted it is getting my down. I couldn’t wait to get in bed and have a good night sleep.
Now when it is my turn to get up with our dd (3) I get her up, take her downstairs and have breakfast and try not to disturb dp. Him? Stayed playing in her room and let her play with a toy accordion waking me up at 8am. I’ll be honest I am raging. Came down with a stinking headache and said I am annoyed at you for being so inconsiderate. His response was ‘she wanted to play with her accordion’. She is 3, tell her mummy is sleeping and go get bloody breakfast instead of pissing about for an hour. Grrrr.

Brilliant thread title OP

100% would not convinct for murder.

TwoStepsAhead34 · 26/09/2020 11:48

@iklboo

Sneak in on his next lie in, phone on full volume & play 'You Give Love A Bad Name'. The opening 'Shot through the heart' should have him stuck to the ceiling like Tom.
This is hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
CallmeAngelina · 26/09/2020 11:52

Right, this is why you should ALWAYS plump for the Saturday lie-in. That way, if it is deliberately sabotaged, you get another go on Sunday to make up for it.
You're in a better position here.

Findmeonetsy · 26/09/2020 13:05

@iklboo laughing my head off at this! Seriously considering planting Alexa under the bed tonight...

Just wondering, going by his reaction, is this part of a pattern?

doctorhamster · 26/09/2020 13:19

I can feel an accordion recital at his bedside coming on. 8am tomorrow morning should do it.

Nicolastuffedone · 26/09/2020 13:26

He’d be playing ‘The bluebell polka’ with every step he took if he’d done that to me!!!

Notverygrownup · 26/09/2020 13:35

I think you might need to go out with your dd to choose a little present this afternoon. I think that Argos sell toy trumpets. I understand that they sound much better played early in the morning . . . .

LannieDuck · 26/09/2020 13:40

That's really selfish of him. I'm sorry you're so exhausted OP. It will get better... it can just be really tough for a while at this age.

BashfulClam · 26/09/2020 14:38

Stop bring considerate until he gets it.

CSIblonde · 26/09/2020 15:03

He's selfish. Do the same to him next time he has a lie in or decide it's urgent that you hoover the landing. Noisy toys can always disappear....well they do if I'm looking after a small person. They reappear if I'm feeling ok with a noise session. (when there is music on so it's not so grating)

billy1966 · 26/09/2020 15:21

What a horrible excuse of a man.

Not in isolation this incident, I would bet.

Mind yourself OPFlowers

Merryoldgoat · 26/09/2020 15:22

I know there are lots of funny responses but he doesn’t sound very nice...

Sweating and shouting at you? That’s not acceptable for any reason.

Batshitbeautycosmeticsltd · 26/09/2020 15:27

What madcatlady said.

Yes it's all hilarious...except the bit when the kid asks why dad is shouting at mum Hmm. Did you all skip that bit?

Soundbyte · 26/09/2020 16:13

@june2007 surely it depends how little sleep you’ve had in the run up and what you were expecting??

Findmeonetsy · 26/09/2020 22:01

Yes I fear it is the stick that broke the camels back today. Our relationship is in the pits. We’ve had a big row tonight and he is still turning it round on me. I’ve had enough :(
@CSIblonde not even really a toy but a mini squeeze box that was passed to her after my uncle died. Shouldn’t even be playing with it! Haven’t even brought that bit up to him. I can’t be bothered anymore

He wouldn't be getting a lie in tomorrow. In fact, I'd be dumping.

june2007 · 27/09/2020 10:14

Soundbyte true enough.

dancinfeet · 27/09/2020 11:21

Another vote for the drum kit when it's daddy'd lie in. What a selfish man!
