I wanted to be a WWE Diva.

A ballet dancer but I was told I was too fat and never got to have a try even once, never had a single lesson.

An air hostess. With all my heart, body and soul. They were the epitome of beauty and glamour in my eyes until one day, aged 14, I suddenly decided they weren't :/

I wanted to be a lorry driver!

When I was 9 I had a nightie that said when I grow up I want to be a nurse.

An assassin - I read the Discworld books a bit too young! I write horror stories now though so I guess I never entirely grew out of that one...

2/3 are sort of on the cards. No1 sadly, that ship has sailed but I did get offered a job as a belly dancer once so I had my moment.

I wanted to be a primary teacher. Crucially, I also wanted a wealthy husband so I had a big, beautiful house like my own primary school teacher.

I managed half of this plan.

I desperately wanted to be a Nurse, ever since I was a little girl. I did a Pre Nursing course at our local college and then applied to Project 2000 but wasn’t clever enough to pass the entry exams.

I was absolutely heartbroken. I know I’d have been a good Nurse.

I'm impressed with all your ambitions. All I wanted was to be old enough to leave home, how I would earn enough to achieve that didn't enter into it. I often think of that Pygmalion song, "All I want is a room somewhere". I did think of being a prostitute when I found out about them, for a while! Just as a means to an end, to set myself up.

Ultimately I became a medical secretary and was very good at it, ended up in a senior position.

I vaguely knew I wanted to be a scientist, and told my friends I'd do an job which hadn't been invented yet.
I was correct, been doing it over 30 years now.

An actress (not in an 'I want to be famous way- I just loved being in school plays and learning lines!). And then decided age 12 that I wanted to be a teacher (and have been one for about 25 years).

Up to the age of 11/12 a professional footballer, then I realised it didn't matter how much I practiced I wasn't going to play in a mens team...being female. Being the 1970s and nowhere near a city womens teams didn't exist for me.
Then I wanted to go in the Navy as a sailor, then realised women didn't go to sea, they were land based.
Aged 14 I wanted to be an actress, I was told to be realistic and aim for bank/nurse/teacher etc..
I ended up in retail.

I used to tell people I wanted to read law

The first time I saw a role I would love to do was a demonstrator in a local market showing a new vegetable grater with lots of different attachments.

I feel into IT at college, did an IT MSc. My first valid job was as an IT demonstrator.

Bingo.

A nurse, then an author, then an actor/singer.

I am instead not-an-anything! I still need to work out what I want to do!

First of all I wanted to be an air hostess, then a doctor but I was crap at science and used to feel faint if I had to go into a hospital. Then I decided I should be a journalist.

I became none of those!

Oh but when I was little I wanted to be Indiana Jones, or a Ghostbuster
