I used to hate anything with strawberry growing up.

OP posts:
OpEd · 23/09/2020 19:15

Oh and sausages and pizza.

Beamur · 23/09/2020 19:15

Marrowfat peas 🤢
Peppers - my Mum used to put them in everything.
I used to love something my Granny made until the penny dropped as to what I was eating. Couldn't eat it after that! Stuffed heart..
Still quite like offal generally but not heart or tongue..

Houseplanted · 23/09/2020 19:17

Mushrooms, smoked mackerel and gravy (or any sauces) - love them all now!

MissTemple · 23/09/2020 19:17

Any milky pudding - at school it was stay here until you eat your semolina, rice pudding, tapioca. Many lost lunch breaks or vomit everywhere.

Wobblywibblywoo · 23/09/2020 19:19

Rice pudding, my mum once made keep trying it she thought I’d eventually learn to like it, after I threw it all back up she stopped Grin

ClementineWoolysocks · 23/09/2020 19:22

School puddings.
Everyone went mad when it was chocolate sponge with pink custard but I thought it was gross, it tasted nothing like chocolate and the custard was watery. My sponge regularly fell off my spoon and under the table.

CorianderLord · 23/09/2020 19:26

Salmon, lamb chops, steak, shepherds pie.

Witchend · 23/09/2020 19:52

Bread and mashed potato

Which was a major problem in our house as every meal barring breakfast and pancake day had bread or mashed potato.

Even the thought has me retching.

I now never eat mashed potato and eat while bread only under certain circumstances.

Thus proving the parents who say "I was strict with mine so they were never fussy because I didn't let them refuse food" totally wrong.

cameocat · 23/09/2020 19:56

Mushrooms and avocado. Two of my favourite foods now!

cameocat · 23/09/2020 19:57

Oh and peanut butter, custard and rice pudding. Still don't like them.

Drogonssmile · 23/09/2020 19:57

Olives anchovies and smoked salmon. Love them now.
Kidneys and liver. Still can't stand them.

sluj · 23/09/2020 19:57

Olives and cottage cheese, love both now

PickAChew · 23/09/2020 19:58

Most vegetables.

sqirrelfriends · 23/09/2020 20:14

Peas, find them delicious now but my mother used to cook them till they were grey.

Lovely1a2b3c · 23/09/2020 20:15

All green veg! I used to retch when I tried to eat them. I think I might have been a 'Super- taster' because I found green veg torturous to eat until I was 25!

Also any mature cheeses (still not keen) and blue cheese.

Mushrooms, but I quite like them now.

Rice- I think it was the texture.

Cheesecake but I still hate that!

IdblowJonSnow · 23/09/2020 20:16

Everything except lemon curd sandwiches and err, spam! Shock

DanielRicciardosSmile · 23/09/2020 20:16

Mushrooms, sweetcorn, baked beans, liver. Sure there's more but that's off the top of my head.

Lovely1a2b3c · 23/09/2020 20:17

Oh and scrambled eggs but I think that was because my Mum didn't use any butter or salt and used too much milk when making them so they were milky and flavourless- love them now.

Oh and milk- still hate it.

It's a long list!

Jamhandprints · 23/09/2020 20:19

Egg whites, parsnips, swede, most of my mum's cooking, sadly! Love all those things now!

Lovely1a2b3c · 23/09/2020 20:20

Banana flavoured things; strawberry flavoured things (but not strawberries); lemon flavoured things.

DramaAlpaca · 23/09/2020 20:21

Fish. I still hate it now, I can't bear the taste, texture and particularly the smell of it.

KittCat · 23/09/2020 20:21

Chinese take away, bloody love it now 😋

Chicchicchicchiclana · 23/09/2020 20:22

New potatoes (now love them)
Tomatoes (still not keen)
Cucumber (still can't stand it)

sugarbum · 23/09/2020 20:23

mushrooms

DipSwimSwoosh · 23/09/2020 20:24

Sweet and sour
Mushrooms
Celery
Sweetcorn
Peppers
Honey
Marshmallows
Rice
Onion

I still hate all the above apart from rice and onion.
