To not want to send

every single photo I have of my children to PIL? It's getting irritating, their continual asking. They're honestly obsessed with them.

I send them 10 or so every quarter already. I might send a different one to DH's granny and they're on the 'phone the next day, pestering me for the one I've sent her.

I think in-laws often get a raw deal. I think a lot of mothers get unreasonably irritated with their in-laws interest in their children, while they chat away 20 times a day to their own mums....

10 or so every quarter isn't much

My sister probably has more photos of my children than I do - she doesn't live nearby and likes to see them, keep a record of them.

It is more than I would choose if it were the otehr way round, but it makes her happy and it is nice that she loves them so much.

YABU.

You asked, we answered. Don't ask if you don't want people to disagree with you.

My immediate sympathies, upon reading your post - were to your PIL. Not you.

Why on earth would you begrudge grandparents the opportunity to see lots of photos of their grandchildren? Do you enjoy havinmg some degree of 'control' over this?

You should be flattered and grateful that they obviously love your children so much. If you have time to come and winge on mumsnet, then surely you have time to email them a few photos?

Milk Monitor - YANBU at all ! They sound totally bonkers.
Yes of course there are others out there with no gp's or gp's who take no interest but that doesn't mean this obsession is right. I don't think you are being mean at all. I would not take kindly to any 'demands' from my family - we were always told by older members of our family ''those who want, don't get''. Perhaps they should consider how demanding/manipulative they are being.
