You need a Frozen kids detangler! I bought one for my daughter ages ago from somewhere I can't remember, but it is the best detangling brush I have!

GroupSects · 16/09/2020 20:56

Wet Brush all the way here! Have 3 of them. Hate, hate, hate Tangle Teezers. So scratchy on my scalp and makes it sore.

Spiderbaby8 · 16/09/2020 21:23

@Pinkywoo

I bought a tangle teaser after hearing all the hype but every time I use it it ends up flying across the bathroom, put a bloody handle on it!
Same! I drop it every time, not good for my arthritic hands
TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 16/09/2020 21:25

I've just realised that wet brush is a brand of its own!
I have a tangle teezer wet brush. Is that the holy grail Grin

Khajit · 16/09/2020 21:35

Haven't tried the wet brush, but just got a tangle teaser for my little girl and it's been amazing! She can actually help brush her own hair now, before she just got it in worse knots!

FakeFlamingo · 16/09/2020 21:53

@PonfusedCarent - 100% agree with you. Don't know what it's called but thanks for the link. It's the most popular hair brush in my house of 3 long haired females with different hair types!

TheGreatWave · 16/09/2020 21:55

I have loads of different ones - I like the wet brush on wet hair, and the tangle teezer on dry hair, I also have a long handled tangle teezer which does reduce the flying out of the hand incidents. -DD2 has short fine hair.

DD1 uses a tangle teezer mainly,

BrokenNotDead · 16/09/2020 22:02

Wet brush pro without a doubt! I used to say every morning that I was going to shave my head because I hated brushing my hair so much and my daughters would run away as soon as I picked the normal paddle brush up, now they happily let me brush their hair

Hurryupbaby11 · 16/09/2020 22:20

Can I throw Tangle Tamer into the mix?! I had a Tangle Teaser which I liked but tried a Tangle Tamer which has a handle and is more like a paddle brush and works much better on my thicker hair www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B010UXX5WG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9fOyFb65YEVNV

Kpo58 · 18/09/2020 07:47

I don't know which is better, but DS who's 2 thinks that my my plain black Tangle Teezer is a spider and has stolen it to play with. Confused

VanillaSpiceCandle · 18/09/2020 12:58

Tangle teezer is the best thing ever! I have long very fine hair and it’s so much better than normal hairbrushes. A wide toothed comb would have no effect on my bird’s nest hair!

CovidLab · 18/09/2020 13:51

I completely disagree and it is a hill I am prepared to die on!

The Tangle Teezer and Wet Brush are similar in that they are good at brushing out knots painlessly, however the Wet Brush has the added bonus of really flexible bristles which makes it even more gentler. In comparison, the Tangle Teezer has thick, strong bristles that tug at the hair when it catches a knot. I also hate the noise of the Tangle Teezer as it brushes through hair as it sounds like it's ripping through the hair.

The only downside to my beloved Wet Brush is that it shouldn't be used when blow drying as the bristles melt and get all dishevelled and bent. However in TK Maxx I saw that they had a brush specific for blow drying so I bought that and it's perfect.

Another vote for the tangle tamer here - only thing that was able to sort out DDs really long hair after she'd been surfing...

EssexGurl · 18/09/2020 14:54

We bought DD a tangle teezer with a handle for her birthday. She hates it as all she has known is the non handle version. I however love it. She has wavy hair and the TT works really well on it.

MsSweary · 18/09/2020 14:56

I have the TT and a Denman and recently discovered and bought a wet brush. The wet brush is by far and away the superior between of them all for wet hair. Denman is good for brushing through my leave in's and curl gel though.

MrsPnut · 18/09/2020 15:16

We use tangle tamers here and have one in each car and one in each bedroom as well as one by the front door in the sideboard.
