It’s not anything I’ve seen before it’s completely flat and doesn’t lose its colour when pressed.

It looks like a red blur...

thedaywewillremeber · 15/09/2020 14:09

Sorry I’ve got her to send me a clear picture.

Yeah, that 2nd picture shows nothing...is it that teeny black dot we're supposed to be looking at?

UnfinishedSymphon · 15/09/2020 14:13

In fact, it's not a black dot, it's a brown dot. Is it not just a freckle?

thedaywewillremeber · 15/09/2020 14:18

It looks more red/purple to me but then she’s shown me in person.

HarryElephante · 15/09/2020 14:19

Is it a UFO?

thedaywewillremeber · 15/09/2020 14:26

This picture might be better.

How old is 'she'? Could it just be a new freckle?

Ohtherewearethen · 15/09/2020 14:30

I'm amazed someone noticed something that small appearing on themselves.

WhoAmIWhoAreYou · 15/09/2020 14:33

Looks like a freckle

thedaywewillremeber · 15/09/2020 14:34

She’s got health related anxiety. She’s 20. Im trying to re assure her.

Midnightsky1 · 15/09/2020 14:35

The first photo is nothing like the second. Is it the same spot/freckle?

Florencex · 15/09/2020 14:37

I cannot see anything at all on the second and third photos.

Muddybootsblister · 15/09/2020 14:38

It’s very hard to say from your pictures. Could be a freckle, a mole or a bite. If she’s worried, she could get the GP to check it. I’m not an expert but I’ve had melanoma and basal cell carcinoma skin cancers, and - from what I can see - they didn’t look like that.

thedaywewillremeber · 15/09/2020 14:39

Yes it is the same spot. She had zoomed in on in the first picture.

Muddybootsblister · 15/09/2020 14:41

Easy guide to checking moles ABCDE:

Asymmetry - the two halves of the area may differ in shape

Border - the edges of the area may be irregular or blurred, and sometimes show notches

Colour - this may be uneven. Different shades of black, brown and pink may be seen

Diameter - most melanomas are at least 6mm in diameter. Report any change in size, shape or diameter to your doctor

Expert - if in doubt, check it out! If your GP is concerned about your skin, make sure you see a Consultant Dermatologist, the most expert person to diagnose a skin cancer. Your GP can refer you via the NHS

FippertyGibbett · 15/09/2020 15:04

Looks like a mole.

Ohtherewearethen · 15/09/2020 15:05

What is she worried it might be?

Powerbunting · 15/09/2020 15:08

Is it the brown freckle that you are asking about?

How does it look different to other freckles that you've seen?

What about this one has her so worried?

If it isn't the brown mark, what on earth are you looking at?

Thepilotlightsgoneout · 15/09/2020 15:14

The first photo looks like some kind of bite. The next two, I can’t see anything except a very small mole/freckle. Both look absolutely unremarkable.

BlazeMonsterMachine · 15/09/2020 15:28

If I've interpreted the photo correctly, I think I have one. They come and go.

The first time I noticed one, I asked a doctor about it and was told its just a capillary bleed.

Yeah. If it’s red it’s just a cherry angioma.

Ellapaella · 15/09/2020 15:31

@BlazeMonsterMachine yours looks like a cherry angioma - I've had one before and was reassured it was completely benign.
@thedaywewillremeber I can't really see anything significant in any of your photos but if there is any doubt then it would be best to perhaps send the GP a photo and let them have a look?

AmyandPhilipfan · 15/09/2020 15:32

I have a few red dots that I assume are a type of small, harmless bleed. I hope they’re harmless anyway, but if not they must be very slow acting as I’ve had them for years. So if I were her I really wouldn’t worry.

BlazeMonsterMachine · 15/09/2020 15:56

@Ellapaella That's useful to know 😁

I was fairly sure it was nothing significant.
