@ShebaShimmyShake

I have no idea when my period would be due, I’ve not had once since DS was born Confused

I know what you mean though and yes total head game. I think I ovulated around the 5th which is why the clear blue calculator says wait till the end of the week! It’s just so hard. I’m starting to feel very ‘periody’ so I’m not holding out hope.

Despite us not trying I’m now feeling quite bereft Sad I know that’s a bit silly
Not silly at all, but one reason why I sometimes wish these super early tests had never been invented, although of course they would be because obviously there's demand. There are also other reasons why I dislike them.

Wait until your period would have been due if you had ovulated when you think you did. A test is most likely to be positive then if you are pregnant. These squinters are just going to make you mad.

Sexnotgender · 15/09/2020 16:20

There’s lines on all your tests.

StarchyStanley · 15/09/2020 17:18

I can see one on that latest test op, but yes, good idea to wait till the weekend. Good luck Flowers!

Mooey89 · 15/09/2020 17:37

I can see a line on all your tests OP 🙈

Pumpertrumper · 16/09/2020 08:51

So I’ve tested this morning after a night of cramps and very light spotting (just a few drops but still) and I think they look more negative than any of the others. Very disappointed.

I did a clear blue calculator that said the earliest I could test would be tomorrow...but I don’t think it’s looking good

I'm sorry but I can only see one line on all of those tests.

Soubriquet · 16/09/2020 09:00

I agree that they are negative

Sorry Op

OiSortItOwt · 16/09/2020 09:10

Sorry OP, those look negative now compared to your earlier ones x

TheKeatingFive · 16/09/2020 09:11

It’s gutting OP. I’m sorry.

Do yourself a favour and avoid early testing when you’re ttc in earnest. It is ruinous for your mental health.

By the time I finally conceived DS2, I didn’t test until about 7 weeks, because I couldn’t face POAS, having overdone it for months. I got to the point where the sinking feeling of the negative was too much for me.

Me too. It's as clear as day that those are negative tests so I can never understand how so many people say they can see a second line Confused.

Yes.

I really don't know how much good those early tests do us. They can pick up chemical pregnancies and while some women may want to know, I wouldn't and I'm not convinced it's good for anyone's mental health if they do. We're still not even sure if those first ones were indeed positives. I just feel they only add to that mad head game of TTC so you're all keyed up literally from what you believe to be ovulation day, squinting at tests ages before you're due on, just making the whole thing even more encompassing and difficult than it already is.

Chin up, OP. Six months after a birth, with periods not back yet and while breastfeeding would have been very uncommon. There's nothing to suggest you won't get your next child when your body has recovered and you start actively trying.

Pumpertrumper · 16/09/2020 09:26

Thanks all!

Yes I’ve resigned myself to their being negative.
It’s probably not the worst thing. DS isn’t sleeping well and being pregnant now would have been very hard.

I didn’t intend to test early. If I’d known when my period was actually due (rather than a lot of guess work and theories) I would have waited.

I’m just going to ignore it and put it out of my mind. I do think it was a chemical though as I tested purely down to feeling ‘off’ it was the same feeling as I’d had with DS and I recognised it!

Because we can see a second line!

Honestly, is it beyond your comprehension that people see things differently?

I would NEVER say I could see a second line if I couldn’t, what kind of cruel hearted arse would that make me.

OP your tests from this morning perhaps have the tiniest hint of a second line but compared to your previous tests it’s not looking good unfortunately Flowers

bigknickersbigknockers · 16/09/2020 11:22

I cant see a line on any of the pics OP which I know from experience is hard for you when you want another baby but try and relax about it and it will happen.

BarbaraofSeville · 16/09/2020 11:27

Not when you're looking at something that is either there or it is not.

Interestingly, there are a lot of negative reviews on the Boots website for the FRER, mostly about 'false positives'. I wonder how many of those are from people also seeing imaginary lines?

Sexnotgender · 16/09/2020 11:28

Not when you're looking at something that is either there or it is not.

And it’s clearly there to me.

You say it’s not. Why are you so sure you’re right and others are wrong? How odd.

aToadOnTheWhole · 16/09/2020 11:30

Me too. It's as clear as day that those are negative tests so I can never understand how so many people say they can see a second line

Because I can see second lines in the first few tests? They're very faint but they're there. Possible false positives or maybe OP has sadly had an early loss but I can see two lines in the first tests.

I'm sorry OP, I hope everything works out for you Flowers

Pumpertrumper · 16/09/2020 11:36

Thanks all

There are faint lines in the early tests, I even sent them to a couple of RL mum friends who immediately drew circles around the line and sent it back confirming they could also see.

I think it’s just been a chemical pregnancy that never took route and I tested too early because I didn’t know when I was due on really.

I think If I was ‘seeing imaginary lines’ I’d probably be continuing to see them or grasping at straws rather than saying there’s nothing there now.

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 16/09/2020 12:06

I agree with others that early testing is a road to heartbreak. It took a year to conceive DS and in the first few months I caused myself so much extra upset by over-testing and putting myself through the emotional wringer instead of just waiting for my period. The month I actually got pregnant I was so drained by the whole process that I POAS and then put it to one side in the bathroom while I brushed my teeth and do on. Gave it a cursory glance a minute or two later as I was so used to seeing just one line and actually screamed in shock when it was positive, poor DH thought I’d injured myself Grin It makes for a funny story now but I wish I hadn’t turned testing into such a ‘thing’ as I was exhausted!

Emmelina · 16/09/2020 13:18

So sorry Op. I too saw the faint lines in the first and second set of tests, but would have expected them to strengthen with each new set, not grow more faint. Nothing in the latest. Fertilised enough to give a little rush of the hormones perhaps, and didn’t grip tight enough in the right place x
