Whether you agree with them or not... do you?

@Aridane Thanks! I don’t have great skin but I do quite like my eyes so really the mask is an improvement!!

yelyah22 · 12/09/2020 16:30

Nope, I don't mind them at all. I've got some quite nice ones too with washable cases, so I always have a nice clean one available and they smell good ha.

I wish we had normalised wearing masks when it's flu season/when you've got a cold years ago, always made me feel a bit ill to see people coughing and sneezing everywhere on the train/in work! Hopefully this might make people more aware of their grotty germs hahaha.

But of course that's probably just my brainwashed, subjugated self talking ;)

(side note: I'm genuinely fascinated by the anti-maskers who say we're being brainwashed and controlled and all the rest. What the fuck would the government want with us all in masks? What point would there be?)

HelplessProcrastinator · 12/09/2020 16:39

I hate them. Have to wear them round the office and feel ridiculous. As long as they are not mandatory anymore I’m burning them. I hate not seeing faces and not hearing what people are saying. Also I am fatty but my face is quite pretty. I’m having to hide my best feature so my fat arse is more obvious now.

HelplessProcrastinator · 12/09/2020 16:40

As soon as they are not mandatory I’m burning them, definitely complying now.

msflibble · 12/09/2020 16:45

No. My mouth feels a bit hot when the weather's warm, but I don't feel like a dick. I don't think anyone wearing one is a dick either (except the people who wear them with their nose hanging out... I mean what's even the point..?)

msflibble · 12/09/2020 16:46

It was also great last week when I had a cold sore and nobody had to look at the great weeping blister on my lower lip

Elephantday82 · 12/09/2020 16:46

Yes, I feel like an idiot. I’m saving a fortune by not going anywhere I have to wear them unless I absolutely have to 🙄. I’ve ramen to shopping in Iceland as hardly anyone wears one 😂

Aridane · 12/09/2020 16:47

@msflibble - the men who swagger around with mask bElbow nose literally look like they have a little dick protruding above their mask

lilsquish · 12/09/2020 16:48

I like that it hides my big nose and i only need to wear mascara instead of full make-up Grin

SparklyBookcase · 12/09/2020 16:48

No, why would I?

EnormousDormouse · 12/09/2020 16:52

Don't mind at all. And it's the equivalent of 200gbp fine if I'm caught not wearing one (required in all public areas).
It's amazing how the threat of a big fine makes mask wearing tolerable even in 40 degree heat.

OddBoots · 12/09/2020 17:01

I've got used to mine and don't feel silly any more. I have however this week had some delivered that have a clear window in them as I know more people than we realise use lip-reading but I do feel silly in those at the moment, I have not worn them out of the house yet.

msflibble · 12/09/2020 17:48

Do you feel like an absolute d**k in a mask?
Aridane · 12/09/2020 17:50

That is exactly how I have been seeing it, @msflibble!!!!!

Thank you

Aridane · 12/09/2020 17:51

@OddBoots - do they steam up?

OddBoots · 12/09/2020 17:54
@OddBoots - do they steam up?
They haven't in the short time I tried them on in the house but they might if it was colder outside and/or if I was walking and breathing more heavily.

Aridane · 12/09/2020 18:30

Are you supposed to do one of those smear and rinse things with washing up liquid like for scuba masks?

WaterOffADucksCrack · 12/09/2020 23:55

Nah. I work in a care home so well used to it!

Saracen · 13/09/2020 00:16

No. I might feel silly if absolutely nobody else was wearing one.

aintnothinbutagstring · 13/09/2020 01:42

I quite like it as I don't have to bother about the state of the bottom half of my face, long live the mask!

steff13 · 13/09/2020 02:42

I do. I have a thyroid thing that makes it hard to regulate my temperature. So I'm red-faced and sweaty.

MadisonAvenue · 13/09/2020 09:55

I don’t feel like a dick but I hate wearing one with a passion. I,m quite quietly spoken and find that I’m having to repeat what I’m saying a lot, speaking louder doesn’t come naturally and the mask seems to muffle whatever I say and I feel like I’m interacting less which makes me feel rude. I’m avoiding going out apart from essentials (which isn’t a bad thing).

Also, I just think it’s really sad looking around and seeing everyone in masks. It’s a constant reminder of the crappy situation we’re in.

Bedsheets4knickers · 13/09/2020 10:20

No I wear one , I've got used to it now for shopping . Did not enjoy having to wear it the whole time at Warner brother studios yesterday , it was so hot and stuffy . Puts me of going out .

CthulhuInDisguise · 15/09/2020 07:58

Felt like a ninja in mine yesterday, dressed all in black with a black mask Grin

Might try one of those recommended for specs though, fed up of damp eyes!

ShinyPie · 15/09/2020 08:04

I quite like wearing mine as I don't have to worry about what I'm doing with my mouth (I have an awkward smile).
