Whether you agree with them or not... do you?

Don’t wear one never have

JulesCobb · 11/09/2020 20:48

No. And i enjoy not having to smile at people

AllWashedOut · 11/09/2020 20:50

Burkas are pretty good coverage too. Once we're all wearing them, no one will bat an eyelid. Then we will finally be able to live our lives in our own private bubbles, keeping our smiles to ourselves (and having to shout to be heard, but hey, worse things in life)

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 11/09/2020 20:51

I like that it's longer between 'tache waxes ;)

I don't like that I have a health condition that means I am overheating with the slightest bit of exhertion Winter/Summer alike and that the masks make me even hotter and wet through.

Technically I think that I'm exempt but I don't want to catch it/pass it on so I wear them. I just have to keep aware and swap often because a wet mask would be more issue than no mask when it came to breeding germs.

DizzyPigeon · 11/09/2020 20:51

No.

I felt like a dick when I was walking past a shop and something caught my eye, so I popped in - and after looking for a couple of minutes realised I wasn't wearing one. So I just left without buying anything Blush

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 11/09/2020 20:53

I'm sure I've looked like a dick for on many non-mask-related occasions in the past. And doubtless I'll look like one for other reasons in the future.

I'm getting past the age where I care.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 11/09/2020 20:54

I did when I felt like it was just me wearing one. I don't now everyone's wearing them.

pooopypants · 11/09/2020 20:55

Nope - hides my chins and chin hairs

Though I recently realised that I lip read more than I realised - I struggle to hear a lot of things people say to me

SleepOhHowIMissYou · 11/09/2020 20:57

I rather like them. They are quite common in Japan (it's polite to wear a surgical mask if you have a cold there).

SleepOhHowIMissYou · 11/09/2020 20:59

If it's a sincere smile, people see it in your eyes so not a problem 😁

123456kent · 11/09/2020 21:01

Yep, I feel like a dick. I don’t know why. I wear them everywhere that it’s compulsory. But I keep thinking ‘oh god what have I left on my face’ like you would if you suddenly realised your dress was tucked in your knickers, then remembering I’m supposed to be wearing it. Doesn’t stop me from doing things though

pasteldechocolateconchispa · 11/09/2020 21:03

No not at all. They also hide my spots when it’s time of the month. Sometimes my coffee breath kills me though I a probe to a coffee or two, I did forget I had it on the other day and tried to smell a candle and felt like a dick.

Having returned my youngest to primary and the mammoth line and the new rules of no more than 6, I’m now going to wear one when waiting to take her in and she can also wear one as these are not people we would normally spend time with and infections are rising in our borough. We had to wait 15 minutes yesterday to even get near the gate

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 11/09/2020 21:04

Naah - the people that look like absolute fucking dicks are the ones that think they have to wear a mask dangling from the ear, or neatly covering their neck/chin.
IT'S YOUR NOSE AND MOUTHS THAT YOU NEED TO COVER, DICKHEADS.

Thisisnotnormal69 · 11/09/2020 21:05

@loulouljh

For all those who says this feels normal...just be careful. Do you want this as your new reality????? What is next. Be careful what you accept and use some analysis and independent thought.
@loulouljh 🙄
EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 11/09/2020 21:10

I keep a bright red beanie hat with an attached visor in the car to grab when I can't spot a mask & need to pop into a shop.
So far, only friends have laughed outright, but it does look more dick-ish than a mask. It is more comfortable though.

BetterEatCheese · 11/09/2020 21:10

Yeah I do a bit!! I don't know why, I think it just makes me chuckle seeing everyone eyes only. I find it very surreal and I'm super aware of it.

rarotonga2 · 11/09/2020 21:11

No. I don't really think about it anymore.

BiBabbles · 11/09/2020 21:11

Feel like one, no.

Look like one, only when I need to look for things or read anything and when my more anxious than usual (the latter was around before masks though).

My glasses end up perched half down my nose over the mask and the visual loss from that & the mask has meant that I have to look straight-on at something to see clearly, resulting in a lot more head movement and feeling like I'm staring at the shelves in stores. It still feels weird and I feel that I at least look a bit of a dick when shopping or down in my bag when trying to find anything. I spend far more time looking down than I use to navigate the uneven paths near me or I end up stumbling.

When anxious, I sometimes worry that needing to do that makes me look more aggressive/judgey/unfriendly than I intend and that I'll get shit for that, but I haven't gotten that since lockdown started. Carry on worry from past, I guess.

Figgygal · 11/09/2020 21:11

Nope love them
Can hide from random school mums in Tesco
They hide the chins

rambleon1 · 11/09/2020 21:12

Yes and I think most people look bloody stupid in them.

PhilSwagielka · 11/09/2020 21:16

No, I feel like a Naruto character.

Aww bless. Did you have to wait long to let your bigotry show?
Flibbitygibbit · 11/09/2020 21:23

No as mine is sparkly and I sing along to shop music and no one knows 🤣

Boozysoozy1 · 11/09/2020 21:23

No, I like to make the scream face 😱 and no one knows

Boatonthehorizon · 11/09/2020 21:32

I feel.like a cowboy/ gangster / bank robber.
I'm very innocent and have never ever broken law.
I have to stop myself saying "this is a holdup...give me all your money" 😂
