Tony Blair.

I met most of the senior New Labour politicians, including Tony & Cherie, John Prescott, David Blunkett, Robin Cook etc etc.

I was a Labour activist in a very important ‘bellweather’ marginal seat in the 90s, and everyone came up to Derbyshire from London to campaign for us.

We were devastated when we lost in 1992, but in 1997 we won Smile.

Tony knew he was about to become PM, and behaved accordingly. He was more charismatic than anyone you have ever met. Cherie came across as being extremely bright, and she was very attractive in the flesh.

Actually met? Rather that gawped at like a haddock? Kate Adie. She was extremely lovely to me as a very star-struck teen.

My DH fell down the stairs in front of Kathleen Turner. She was unperturbed.
