Met Paul Macartney years ago in Liverpool. I was walking through the town centre with my friend. My friend knew McCartney because she had worked in the same hairdressing salon as Ringo Starr's first wife. A sports car pulled up and it was him. He invited her to his 2lst birthday party. The Beatles had just become mega famous and I was awe struck.

Ranunculi · 10/09/2020 09:54

I’ve never met anyone famous but my friend used to have sex with Ian McKellen on a regular basis.

Mrsjayy · 10/09/2020 09:55

All of Slipknot (many occassions)
All of Bon Jovi (backstage at a gig, was helping out a friend who worked for them)
Motley Crüe (in a hotel elevator)
Josh Groban (again, helping a friend who was working for him. Delivered his laundry to his room and he asked me to help him find somewhere. He was super sweet and very down to earth. I had no idea he was as accomplished as he is!)
Snow Patrol (before they were big, manning their own merch stand 😆)

Mrsjayy · 10/09/2020 09:57

QuidcoQueen · 10/09/2020 09:57

David Beckham.
I used to work in a posh shop in Manchester so met a lot of Manchester based footballers and coronation st actors.

But Beckham would have to be the most famous. He was lovely. Really friendly and chatty with all the fawning people. This was 20 years ago now though.

i wasn't allowed to ask for an autograph while I was working, I wish I would have just done it!

DM went to a NYE party a year or 2 after DDad died. The host introduced her to someone, who DM did say looked vaguely familiar, with the words “Ahhhhh Bike’sMum, have you met Richard....?”. Tgry had a great chat, similar age, shared interests, he seemed charming etc then DM blew it by exclaiming “Oh my God, you’re Ringo Starr!”.

DSis used to work for Diana Ross’ husband.

Dobbyismyfavourite · 10/09/2020 10:02

@Aposterhasnoname My DD would be very jealous. She cried when Alan Rickman died, big HP fan.
