I would say currently it's Geoff from Corrie.

How has no one said Hermione Granger yet?

Fuck me, she’s annoying. I bet JK Rowling would give a million bucks to be able to go back and re-write her.

I see a few of you agree with me about that lisping ninny Meredith Grey. There’s no way she’d get anywhere near me with a scalpel!

The relentlessly drippy Tess in Tess of the d’Urbervilles pining after that utter cockwomble Angel Clare.

I always thought Ally McBeal would have been loads better without Ally McBeal.

'Tess of the d'Urbervilles'

I have sympathy for her; but detest Angel Clare!

'Pip 'Golden Child' Archer'

Not one tenth as annoying as Kate Madikane!

'Huge fan of the Chalet School books, but honestly, Joey Bettany/Maynard gets right on my tits'

So am I! I like Joey as a girl, but she gets increasingly annoying as an adult. As I said in another post, Jem Russell is my pet hate in that series.

Been beaten to it by most of these! Agree with the PP about the BBC Pride and Prejudice adaptation: the actors who played Mr Collins and Lady Catherine made it for me.

Adding another +1 to the appalling bully-girl Alicia Johns and dear old Julian Kirrin, punctilious, pompous little prick that he is. Likewise, Bridget Jones can get in the bin.

Mr Tansley (the bloke in To The Lighthouse who's always saying 'women can't paint, women can't write' is another eye-scourer for me.

Likewise, Stephen Dedalus. Like a grown-up Jesuit version of Julian Kirrin.

P D James's Adam Dalgliesh. Unkind, judgemental, ageist, disablist, sexist, food snob, intellectual snob. What's to like?

Every single character from the novel Atonement - there isn't a redeeming feature among the lot of them!

Prissy mealy-mouthed Sue from Tess of the d'Urbervilles. Never have I wanted so much to reach into a book and slap a character.

See I loved the book (despite King's rather annoying habit of going off on huge tangents all the time...) but Tozier was so irritating, with his different accents.
I'm not one for supporting cruelty to children but I was hoping to the book Gods that he'd get murdered by IT.

I agree about Peppa Pig, she's so irritating, and so rude.
Oh, and yes, Bing!
