I would say currently it's Geoff from Corrie.

Alison in The Affair

TornadoOfSouls · 08/09/2020 09:23

I will hop on the Phoebe hate train, ditto the dreadful Pip Archer.

I’m not keen on Kramer from Seinfeld.

As well as Falstaff, Sir Toby Belch is incredibly annoying.

Tony Soprano gets on my nerves as does Meadow Soprano.

awesomeaircraft · 08/09/2020 09:29

@SerenDippitty beat me to it. Neelix in Star Trek Voyager is so annoying.

Funkyslippers · 08/09/2020 09:29

Ah I quite like Phoebe really, I don't find her irritating or unkind. But if she was one of my friends she'd probably drive me mad

BillywigSting · 08/09/2020 09:30

A pp said gatsby, I agree, but raise you e every single character in that book.

They are all utterly vapid and totally deserve each other.

CoalCraft · 08/09/2020 09:37

I'm not into superheroes but I've seen quite a few of the Avengers films over time and Chris Pratt's Starlord character is insufferable. Thor ended up awful too. The only ones with any redeemable qualities whatsoever were Loki and Spiderman.

BadTitan · 08/09/2020 10:04

The babysitter in The Fall.

Drok · 08/09/2020 10:18

Isabel Dalhousie, yes. She's so annoying I'd blocked her out of my mind and have never read another book by that writer.

chrislilleyswig · 08/09/2020 10:52

Nellie Olsen in Little House on the Prairie

Isabel Dalhousie

To which I would add her drippy husband Jamie. What annoyed me about that series was that Isabel and Jamie started off as flawed but likeable and it was rather lovely that they adored each other although they obviously weren't everyone's cup of tea. As the series went on the author started portraying Isabel as saintly and Jamie some kind of sex god who every man and woman in the story was improbably desperate for. And poor Cat wasn't allowed any character development at all apart from acting as a contrast to Isabel and Jamie's perfection.

BacklashBacklash · 08/09/2020 12:45

Mellors in Lady Chatterley's Lover. Verbally abusive to his daughter, really sexually threatened by his ex wife, and a fucking bore to boot. Not that the rest of the characters were great either.

PhilSwagielka · 08/09/2020 13:52

Ooh, I've thought of another one: Bunny from The Secret History. He totally deserved to get cliffed. Although they were all horrible people in that book. Judy Poovey was the best character in it and I like that she got to be a minor celebrity while the murder gang were all either miserable or dead.

MujeresLibres · 08/09/2020 13:55

Marianne Dashwood

M2B19 · 08/09/2020 18:13

The female lead in fifty shades. What a tit she is.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/09/2020 18:19

Haven't read the fiull thread but
The daughter in Schitts Creek

My God she pissed me right off ! She got worse as the series went on and it was almost like she was twisting herself in knots to be a complete no-brain airhead self obsessed squeaky voiced bimbo .

My hand , as they say would've snapped before I grew tired of slapping her .

I'm sure th actress herself is lovely Wink

CatsArePeopleToo · 08/09/2020 18:25

Negan? Are you people for real??? Shock

crowsfeet57 · 08/09/2020 19:04

Violet Elizabeth Bott
Ginny Weasley
Jamie, Andrea and Millie Tate - they just whine all the time. It's probably too much to hope for a tsunami in Yorkshire but surely a plane could crash on them or something.

iamabox · 08/09/2020 19:10

Tracy Barlow.

JalapenoDave · 08/09/2020 21:49

@iamabox

Tracy Barlow.
And her evil-eyed daughter! Although I've not watched Corrie for a long time, her daughter may not be as evil-eyed these days...

Agree! Julian was a pompous prick!

Also Harry Potter or maybe I mean Daniel Radcliffe playing HP.

Darrell Rivers

Horrid Henry

Mrs Bennett in Pride and Prejudice.

King Lear - what a bloody twat he is.

Don't youthink we need Mrs Bennet though? Without her fretting, and menopausal aggitation we don't get to see the depts to which people (women) have to sink in order to survive. She is terrible agreed but a smart character for the writter to come up with! By Julian do you mean the Julian in Famous Five? He really got my hair on end...
Lizzie523 · 08/09/2020 22:43

I hated the doctor's assistant when played by Amy Pond.

EBearhug · 08/09/2020 22:53

Surely characters like Violet Elizabeth Bott are meant to be really annoying? So if they're appearing here, the author did their job. Whereas Julian in the Famous Five or Mellors were written seriously.
