I would say currently it's Geoff from Corrie.

OP posts:

Yes yes to Amy March. Undeserving of Laurie.

Ginty Marlow. Undeserving of Patrick.

Mandy in WW. Undeserving of Josh.

Washinglinewench29 · 06/09/2020 21:06

Mum and dad from topsy and Tim beyond irritating

BewaretheIckabog · 06/09/2020 21:07

Doctor Zhivago - used to think he was this great tortured hero.

He was weak, unfaithful and relied on women to sort out all his problems.

I’m sure MN would advise both Tonya and Lara to LTB.

Although as the eponymous character it may have been a very short book without him.

talkingkrustydoll · 06/09/2020 21:07

The twins in Fireman Sam. Their voices are like fingers down a blackboard.

Aposterhasnoname · 06/09/2020 21:11

Tonks from Harry Potter. Everything about her, especially her name, irritates me. The whole character is just too try hard.

Paintedmaypole · 06/09/2020 21:12

I forgot to say Peppa rhe precocious pig.

HumphreyCobblers · 06/09/2020 21:13

The unnamed heroine in Rebecca. Tell Mrs Danvers to piss off, buy some posh knickers and EXPLAIN that Mrs Danvers told her to dress up like that ffs.

Wakemeupwhenthisisover · 06/09/2020 21:13

Carrie Bradshaw SATC

Or as pp say Lydia in P&P

Wakemeupwhenthisisover · 06/09/2020 21:14

Ohhh Norman price in fireman Sam

HumphreyCobblers · 06/09/2020 21:14

Oh and Postman Pat. He loses ever sodding letter and parcel he has to deliver, yet everyone goes on and on about how he saved the day! He only had to save the day because he messed up in the first place.

GCAcademic · 06/09/2020 21:15

Little Nell. I cheered when she died, and have never bothered to read any more Dickens since.

30daysoflight · 06/09/2020 21:19

Frodo and Bingo Little

Lonelykettleshed · 06/09/2020 21:20

Mary-Lou Trelawney from the Chalet School books (not her first appearances but in the Swiss books)

Kittytheteapot · 06/09/2020 21:24

Bathsheba Everdene in Far from the madding crowd. I could never stand her for the flippant way she treated Boldwood and Gabriel Oak.

Notlostjustexploring · 06/09/2020 21:25

It's got to be George from Grey's anatomy who is the ultimate annoying wet blanket. He does nothing but WHINE!

Peppa "bacon bits" pig. Such a brat.

Lord Grantham from Downtown Abbey. I never really found him to have any particularly redeeming features, but he was revered by his family and staff. I always found him just a bit wet.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 06/09/2020 21:25

I don’t think Dickens actually liked real women all that much.

By all accounts he didn't, judging by his horrible behaviour to his long-suffering wife.

Whilst still on the topic of Dickens, it's a pity Esther Summerson didn't cark it from the smallpox. A more sanctimonious character it would be hard to find anywhere in literature!

I'm not a great fan of Shakespeare's Cordelia for similar reasons (drip).

Laughing at Postman Pat being a complete incompetent ...

St John Rivers in Jane Eyre.

Oh god yes. I re-read it recently and couldn't get over how awful he was.

MrsToothyBitch · 06/09/2020 21:31

I agree with so many of these actually!! And I missed few!

Mary-Lou Trelawney AND Joey Bettany from the Chalet School.
Rose Mortmain

Never Amy March though, I adore her- only person to put that arrogant bitch Jo in her rightful place and she utterly did deserve Laurie, she took him in hand, they were just what each other needed!

InTheCludgie · 06/09/2020 21:32

Suzy Sheep from Peppa Pig - rude and a shit friend. Agree also with multiple previous posters about Becky Bloomwood. Loved the books in my early twenties but doubt I could bring myself to read them again

IwishIwasyoda · 06/09/2020 21:34

Bing and everyone associated with him. I cannot bear this programme and do not understand why it is sooooooo popular

Jayneisagirlsname · 06/09/2020 21:43

God yes to Meredith Grey! Just watched the episode where they're battling to save her life and all I could shout was 'Call it! Time of death, say it!'

MitziK · 06/09/2020 21:45

Spud the Scarecrow in Bob the Builder and that fucking whining, snidey bitch Bella in Tweenies.

Crossandcrochety · 06/09/2020 21:45

Also Granny Murray.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 06/09/2020 21:48
