I would say currently it's Geoff from Corrie.

OP posts:

Holden Caulfield

Violetroselily · 06/09/2020 20:29

Didge from Neighbours

CloudyVanilla · 06/09/2020 20:31

Not sure if it's been said but the book version of Hermione Granger.

Not her fault and she's still an awesome character, but in the book she is so relentlessly snappy and sanctimonious. I don't know if it's bad writing or if she's meant to be that way but she's always described at saying things impatiently, snappily or nastily.

PaulaPennyfeather · 06/09/2020 20:33

Absolutely everyone in every Thomas Hardy novel ever.

Limp lettuces the lot of ‘em.

HalloBrian · 06/09/2020 20:34

@Porcupine83

Victor Frankenstein and Bing. Both massively annoying, self absorbed, whiny and entitled.
I love that you have classed these together and I do not disagree.

Most annoying for me are:
Dawn from BTVS - she's written as if she was 10 rather than 15
Serena from Gossip Girl
Ross from Friends after season 3

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 06/09/2020 20:34

Film Ginny..not her fault but way her character was written for the films. Just came across so bland!

MrsSiriusBlack1 · 06/09/2020 20:36

Ross geller. Awful.

RincewindsHat · 06/09/2020 20:37

Meredith from Grey's Anatomy. Cannot stand her.

Bassettgirl · 06/09/2020 20:43

I couldn't watch Denise Van Outen's character in Neighbours. Or Fake Dee. And I find everyone in the Ozark pretty insufferable. Also agree ref. Dawn!

Also rooting for Cathy. I thought the whole point was they were a bit doomed by their birth/circumstances etc. Heathcliffe was driven mad/doomed to be evil by never being treated like a human being because he was an orphan, apart from by Mr Earnshaw who didn't notice Hareton beating the crap out of him and died early on.

Morgendorffer · 06/09/2020 20:44

Phoebe Buffet was the first to spring to mind.

Bassettgirl · 06/09/2020 20:45

Hindley not Hareton!

GrouchyKiwi · 06/09/2020 20:46

How has no one said Chase from Paw Patrol yet? Or Mayor Bloody Goodway and her sodding chicken. I hope one of the Catastrophe Crew eats that dim bird.

Also hell yeses to Mandy and Amy of The West Wing, and Craig/Cregg from Parks and Rec. Even worse than Jean-Ralphio.

musicinspring1 · 06/09/2020 20:47

Elena Gilbert

@EBearhug

Peter from the Secret Seven - sexist snob who isn't nearly as clever as he thinks he is. He only gets to be chief because its his shed. They should have chucked him out, made Janet leader and let the spirited Suzy join.

I reread them recently, and I wondered how they ended up with Peter as leader. At least in the FF, Julian is oldest, which as a child, made sense.

In the first book, which isn't in the original series-I think it may have been published in an annual, I think it's Peter's idea, which is why he's leader. The first book I think is called something like "Mystery at the Mill".

Chalet School: Joey as an adult. Margot from about age 5yo onwards.
Amy March: conniving little thing. Never felt she loved Laurie, simply wanted him because of his money and to get one up on Jo.
Ginty Marlow
Roger Walker, and later Bridget. The baby obviously had to have everyone revolving round them. Nora has a similar tendency in Enid Blyton's Secret series.
Nancy "of course I didn't do anything-said modestly" Drew.

Gobbycop · 06/09/2020 20:49

Dawson from Dawsons Creek.

What a fucking gimp.

He used the word discombobulated once. It's no wonder Joey wouldn't shag him.

Batshitbeautycosmeticsltd · 06/09/2020 20:49

YY to so many of these. Cosette was fucking annoying and Marius a limp biscuit for choosing her.

Bridget Jones and everyone in it. Load of insipid twats.

YY to Lucie in 'A Tale of Two Cities'. Bitch. Emma Bovary as well.

Twixes · 06/09/2020 20:53

Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov in Crime and Punishment. What an asshole.

Mummadeeze · 06/09/2020 20:54

Maybe Emily in Friends. Or Doctor Foster in Doctor Foster.

cafenoirbiscuit · 06/09/2020 20:55

Tia Carrere’s character in Wayne’s World. Made my teeth itch

BillywigSting · 06/09/2020 20:59

Ruby rhod (Chris tucker) from fifth element

BMW6 · 06/09/2020 20:59

Ashley Wilkes (Gone with the wind). Fucking drip and a male prick-tease.

FenellaMaxwell · 06/09/2020 21:03

The entire cast of fireman Sam except Sam, Penny and Radar.
Cathy from Wuthering Heights
Hermione Harefield from Jilly Cooper

MardyBra · 06/09/2020 21:03

Madame Bovary

Toomuchtooyoung01 · 06/09/2020 21:03

Bing

MrsMayo · 06/09/2020 21:04

Just thought of another.

Fat Bastard in an Austin Powers movie. I thought the film was very funny but he really did make me want to be sick. Which I know was the point but NO.
