Just in case, spoiler alert!

Sirius Black.

Poussey
So tragic.

FrogsSpawnofSanta · 06/09/2020 13:08

Granny Weatherwax. I couldn't finish the book because the Discworld without Granny Weatherwax in it is just too sad.

OfaFrenchmind2 · 06/09/2020 13:08

@Soubriquet Lexa's death was heartbreaking. I really loved seeing her in her badass glory in the City of Light, even if it was just for a bit.
But the 100 has a knack for breaking us, I am in constant fear for Murphy now!

anuffername · 06/09/2020 13:09

@harriethoyle

So glad that someone else has said Stringer!

EyeDrops · 06/09/2020 13:09

Matthew Crawley

Amber in House - when Wilson came home and saw her note on the bed saying she'd gone to pick up House. Full on sobbing.

Barbara in Call the Midwife

Tony in Soldier Soldier - it was just so sudden and shocking 😢

And one that's haunted me - years ago in The Bill, there was a serial killer. I can't even remember the pc's name - Cassie or something? - but it turned out to be either her boyfriend or ex... Anyway, the plot had been building for so long, but I've never forgotten the shot of her, chained up and blindfolded, sobbing as she realised what was happening. It really traumatised me!

Teddy in 'A God in Ruins'
and yes to Mark Greene and Wash as PP, so unexpected

Penners99 · 06/09/2020 13:10

Granny Weatherwax

@SoManyActivities

Am I the only one who felt nothing when Sirius Black died? I didn't really like him! Fred Weasley, Lupin and Tonks was sadder (I was surprised she killed both them both off!)

There is a film called Southpaw in which Jake Gyllenhaals wife, played by Rachel Mcadams, gets shot and killed. Its a really horrible scene, but really well acted, and it really got to me!

Rue in the Hunger Games Sad

Agree, the death in Southpaw was awful. I remember having it on my mind for ages after watching it.

George in Greys
Fred Weasley (never forgive JKR for that!)
Poussay Washington
John (Peaky Blinders)

@MorrisZapp

Gus McCrae in Lonesome Dove. I don't think the writer Larry McMurtry got over it either because he was then chained to prequels for all eternity.

If Gus had lived, there'd be as many Lonesome Doves as there were Harry Potters. Robert Duvall is still alive and acting, he could have done ten more. It could be a Netflix juggernaut.

Oh for a crystal ball. There's no way they anticipated the reaction to Gus or the appetite for more of him. Sob.

Oh I love that book so much.

Both already mentioned but Mark Greene and Beth in Little Women.

musicinspring1 · 06/09/2020 13:13

I can’t believe I forgot Thomas Malone in Shetland until a PP mentioned him - that was so heartbreaking and I felt genuinely upset and angry!!!!!

user1487194234 · 06/09/2020 13:13

Anne Frank is not a fictional character

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 06/09/2020 13:13

@YetanotherSpartacus you realise Anne Frank isn't a fictional character right?

Bubbaella · 06/09/2020 13:13

Sirius, Lupin, Dumbledore, Fred from HP.

Recent one is Luke Perry’s character on Riverdale. It was heartbreaking to watch because he died in real life so to see it written in the storyline was extra sad.

QueSera · 06/09/2020 13:14

Old Yeller.
Bambi's mum.
Boxer.

harriethoyle · 06/09/2020 13:14

@anuffername I know he was a villain but he did it so well! Great death too, tbf...

AristotleAteMyHamster · 06/09/2020 13:16

Brooks in The Shawshank Redemption
Ana in the book of My Sister’s Keeper
Seymour in Futurama

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 06/09/2020 13:17

Oh and Dirk in Hollyoaks cause it was the most stupid death! Really hope the actor wanted to leave..

Finnick in Hunger games...

BarbedBloom · 06/09/2020 13:17

The person who died in Clockwork Princess.

Mathias from Crooked Kingdom.

Artax the horse

Lady from Game of Thrones

BenoneBeauty · 06/09/2020 13:17

Agree with all of these, especially Goose, Mark Greene, Derek Shepherd and George O'Malley and would add Rachel from Cold Feet. Her death devastated me as I totally didn't see it coming at all!

Murphy will probably be the last one alive

He’s a cockroach Grin

It’s funny. I hated him in season 1 as he was such a dick but you really warm up to him don’t you
