Another vote for Fred Weasley - I bawled like a baby!
Mufasa's death.
Bambi's mum.

FortunesFavour · 06/09/2020 13:21

Haven’t read them all yet, but when Granny Weatherwax died I cried on the tube Blush

MissisBee · 06/09/2020 13:22

Lady Sybil in Downton. One of the best acted death scenes I've ever watched. Completely came back to haunt me when I was in hospital with pre-eclampsia myself though. Thank goodness for modern medicine!

PopcornAndWine · 06/09/2020 13:22

What Katy Did was one of my favourite books as a child, read it many times but always skipped the chapter where Aunt Izzy died as I found it too upsetting!

Lee Scoresby definitely. Barbara in CtM. Hodor. Fred in Angel. Aeris in Final Fantasy 7! And probably not one that many others will have heard of but there is a book called Red Sky in The Morning I loved as a child about a girl who has a disabled brother who dies - actually welling up even typing this thinking about it!

WeirdAndPissedOff · 06/09/2020 13:22

A lot of the ones I would have visited, and some I hasnt thought of are already above. Sad

Several GOT ones - Shireen, Oberyn and the Tyrells in particular. And I struggled to read the scene with Lady - Ned describing her looking up at him was too much!

Newt, Hicks and Bishop. It felt like such a kick in the teeth after the ending of the previous film.

MiddleClassProblem · 06/09/2020 13:22

Fatboy!

FenellaVelour · 06/09/2020 13:22

LOADS.

Boxer. Artax. Hate when horses die.

Justin in the Rats of NIMH though I still keep telling myself he escaped. He can’t have, though, can he?

Finnick Odair in the Hunger Games. Poor Annie.

Prim in the same series. The bit at the end where Katniss is shouting at the cat about Prim’s death broke me.

Jeffrey Tolliver in the Karin Slaughter books, just because the way it was done took my breath away.

Cassian and Jyn in Rogue One. In fact, all of the main characters.

BenWyatt · 06/09/2020 13:23

George O’Malley.

LadyGAgain · 06/09/2020 13:24

M in Skyfall.

Tess

FenellaVelour · 06/09/2020 13:24

Oh, and Ben Saunders from Holby City as I wasn’t expecting it.

Seriouslyconfused3 · 06/09/2020 13:24

Emma from one day the David Nichols book Sad I was heartbroken

TheSandgroper · 06/09/2020 13:24

Beth. I was watching and my mum walked past and asked why was I crying because I hadn’t got to that part yet. Me: “ I’m just p-p-practicing “. I was 30 years old.

Aunt Izzy, too, a bit.

CaveMum · 06/09/2020 13:24

West Wing - Mrs Landingham and then in a later season Simon the Secret Service agent.

Charlie in Supernatural

Crankley · 06/09/2020 13:25

Dobby the House Elf. Sad We need a sobbing emote on here.

LionessRoar · 06/09/2020 13:25

Agree with Rachel from Cold Feet. I was utterly shocked - was so sudden!
Also Snape and Fred... was heartbroken for George. Didn’t care about Sirius as never warmed up to him as a character and found Dobby to be really annoying, especially in the films so was pleased to get rid of him

TheMamaYo · 06/09/2020 13:25

McDreamy. That was just all wrong.

LadyGAgain · 06/09/2020 13:26

Yes. Rachel in cold feet. Sobbed and sobbed.

MitziK · 06/09/2020 13:26

Tarka.

Snipples · 06/09/2020 13:26

Came on to say about Mrs Landingham in the West Wing. That one had me sobbing.

Will add Fitzwallace and Leo of course.

I always cry when Nana dies in the Royle Family - it's the bit when Jim breaks down that gets me, especially against that haunting song "Scarlet Ribbons". Just so well done.

Most shocking death for me was Zoe on House of Cards. I didn't see it coming and it really shook me up - the scene with the train.

MiddleClassProblem · 06/09/2020 13:27

Max Cunningham Hollyoaks

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/09/2020 13:27

you realise Anne Frank isn't a fictional character right?

No need to 'at' me, but OK, I was interpreting broadly.

Sheesh.

OK. Fred then.

Mandalalorianna · 06/09/2020 13:27
