Thomas J in My Girl "His glasses, he can't see without his glasses" I found it hard to watch as a kid but it's unbearable as a parent

@XenakisCarter

Matthew in Anne of Green Gables
Was just about to say this. Also Ruby, I always cry buckets when I read it.

Gus McCrae in Lonesome Dove. I don't think the writer Larry McMurtry got over it either because he was then chained to prequels for all eternity.

If Gus had lived, there'd be as many Lonesome Doves as there were Harry Potters. Robert Duvall is still alive and acting, he could have done ten more. It could be a Netflix juggernaut.

Oh for a crystal ball. There's no way they anticipated the reaction to Gus or the appetite for more of him. Sob.

Totally agree with Will in The Good Wife. I was in shock for days and even now can’t believe it

Me too, did not see it coming at all.

Matthew Cuthbert, he finally had joy in his life with Anne and it lasted such a short time. Glad to see him getting mentioned a few times.

Am I the only one who felt nothing when Sirius Black died? I didn't really like him! Fred Weasley, Lupin and Tonks was sadder (I was surprised she killed both them both off!)

There is a film called Southpaw in which Jake Gyllenhaals wife, played by Rachel Mcadams, gets shot and killed. Its a really horrible scene, but really well acted, and it really got to me!

Rue in the Hunger Games Sad

Snape, Fred, Lupin and Tonks. Dumbledore!

There's an episode of ER with Ray Liotta - 'Time of Death'. Heartbreaking. Shot in real time, it's such an effective episode.

I have never seen a fellow River City fan on here!

Yes Raymond was sad, so many sad deaths,

Raymond
Malcolm
Liz
Deek

I think the worst one for me was Kelly Marie's baby boy. It was so heartbreakingly portrayed.

Glenn, walking dead.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 06/09/2020 12:51

Lord Morham. His ghost coming back to offer Covenant advice was a bit of a heart stopper! Then again killing off Elena was also one of those moments.

But Kiff was the first death that really shocked me - though I suspect my parents had no idea how many harrowing deaths Douglas wrote about in any of his books!

Or possibly the Pevenseys....

DioneTheDiabolist · 06/09/2020 12:51

Mr. Hooper from Sesame Street. Never got over it.😥

Egwene al'Vere She overcame so much it seems a shame.

SoManyActivities · 06/09/2020 12:54

Also Donna in Mamma Mia 2. Its not that sad when you first learn of that death as it has already happened, but that scene at the end in the church when Sophie has a baby of her own is just 😭

SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace · 06/09/2020 12:54

Never mind I'll carry on.

Tony Stark
Sirius Black

I'm definitely stopping now.
