Just in case, spoiler alert!

Sirius Black.

Not the death of a fictional character, but the death of an actor having to be written in to a film - Paul Walker - Brian O’Conner in FF films.

I remember exactly where I was when we watched the news reports that he had died, and knowing that Furious 7 was in the process of being filmed, I knew it would be so hard to watch it. The ending scene where they have his character (played by his brother) drive off was horrendous. I sobbed.

Omg, people talking about Alex in Ashes to Ashes has just set me off. It's so embarrassing I'm glad I'm reading this thread on my own Blush

She was so desperate to get back to her daughter and thought she could do it when she was dead all along 😭
I can't bare it!

Emmie12345 · 07/09/2020 11:41

Hank in Breaking Bad!

RightOnTheEdge · 07/09/2020 11:42

Oh I put bear and it looked wrong so I changed it but I was right in the first place.
Now I'm even more embarrassed Grin

PhilSwagielka · 07/09/2020 11:55

Mufasa. Still gets me every time. In fairness, The Lion King came out a few months after my dad died, so it really hit home. Ino and Shikamaru's dads dying in Naruto got me for the same reason. Especially when Inoichi tells Ino how proud he is of her and how she's blossomed into a beautiful flower.

Amber in Dr House. That episode was absolutely masterful.

wizzbangfizz · 07/09/2020 13:52

Will in the GOod wife. Still irritates me!

ChickenNugget86 · 07/09/2020 14:08

Yvonne Atkins on Bad girls..... Hated Jim Fenner!!

Ishihtzuknot · 07/09/2020 14:22

Jack in titanic, why couldn’t they have let them be together!

Blahblahblahallthetime · 07/09/2020 14:33

Not a film but a book.

The death of Druss the Legend. Bloody hell, the death of a true hero. Even though Gemmell changed things for subsequent books!

GojuRyuLover · 07/09/2020 14:37

@Chopbob Me too. I love Brokeback Mountain but I've only ever been able to watch it twice, I can't bear to watch the end.

There's so many for me, I'm quite empathetic so fictional deaths do really bother me.
Will Traynor in Me Before You
Dennis Rickman from Eastenders (he was killed off in 2005 and I'm still not ok - really, I'm not ok)
Harry Potter: Sirius Black, Fred Weasley, Snape, Lupin & Tonks
Game of Thrones [the show]: Hodor, Jaime, Jaime's character arc, Danny, Wun-wun (the giant that Ramsay killed), all of the direwolves who were killed.
Finnick O'dair from The Hunger Games (why?! Sad)
Gus from The Fault in our Stars
Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal's character) from Brokeback Mountain
Disney: Ellie [Up] & Mufasa [The Lion King].
Misfits: Simon & Alicia (This was actually a great storyline but they definitely should have given us another couple of series before concluding this storyline)

I assume there's more that I have blocked from my memory!

IdblowJonSnow · 07/09/2020 14:39

Ned Stark. Totally unreasonable.

@Patbutcherismyhero Love your username! And yes, Hedwig Sad, I forgot about Hedwig. I almost stopped reading after that.

I thought of more. Thank you OP, I needed to let this out haha.
Marvel: Tony Stark, Peter Parker (even though, spoiler alert, he came back), Vision, Natasha Romanov, Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Yondu.
Eponine & Jean Val Jean (Les Mis)
Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter - I was in shock about it until Harry brought him back & Cedric's dad saw him

@letmethinkaboutitfornow Why was Tony Stark's death Captain Marvel's fault? (I can't think)

Peaseblossom22 · 07/09/2020 15:14

Nigel from The Archers

clpsmum · 07/09/2020 15:16

Jax teller

Spanglemum · 07/09/2020 15:49

@Peaseblosdom22 The actor who played Nigel was on the radio a few days later saying he didn't know why he'd been written out. I stopped listening after that.
@rainydogday I had forgotten about Life after Life
Everyone who said the end of Ashes to Ashes. It really shook me up.
