Also the scene with Snape in the 6th Harry Potter always kills me where Harry sees his memories and realised what he’s done for him Sad

Hayley in Corrie

WitchDancer · 06/09/2020 19:28

Granny Weatherwax, even more so because I believe Sir Terry did it deliberately because his own life was ending.

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 06/09/2020 19:28

Finnick Odair.
Why, just why, did she have to make that happen? Poor Annie. Sob.

It was bad enough in the book, kind of glossed over, but in the film, noooooo!

tulalulah · 06/09/2020 19:30

The boy in the striped pyjamas. So sad.
And the girl in pans labyrinth

pangolina · 06/09/2020 19:31

Lexi in The Hand that First held Mine
Franklin and Celia in We Need tk Talk about Kevin
Not the professor in Haachi, but the aftermath of his death. I watched that film years ago and I still get choked up thinking about it.

msgilbertblythe · 06/09/2020 19:32

Justnoisewhitenoise · 06/09/2020 19:35

Hayley in Coronation Street, I still cry now when I see the clip of her dying with Roy next to her.

Oh god and mufasa from lion King obliterated me 😭

Queenoftheashes · 06/09/2020 19:36

Why isn’t this the thread to reopen a thousand wounds?!
Yes to ginger, boxer, all the departed from the animals of farthing wood and the direwolves.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 06/09/2020 19:41

@trappedsincesundaymorn yes!!! And then to have only Annie left as a original by the first episode of season 4

Same with Curtis in Misfits!

SquishyFishy · 06/09/2020 19:43

George 007 - that moment when you realise......

ThinkWittyThoughts · 06/09/2020 19:43

There are three scenarios for me:

  1. Feelings the loss of a character. For me this would include Henry Blake, Blackadder Goes Forth (even Darling!), Kate & Ziva (although I refuse the believe Ziva is dead - she's just busy hunting down the idiots that threatened her daughter...), Wash, and many more.
  1. The grief for those left behind: Up!; Buffy, Radar; Harry for Hedwig, Dobby, and Sirius; Cedric's parents; Lewis, Cpt Hastings; Forest Gump for Momma & Jenny, etc
  1. The sadness that comes from context: Granny Weatherwax for Terry Pratchett; The Boy with the Striped Pyjamas for the knowledge children really did suffer and die; Richard Harris twinkling Dumbledore knowing he was doing it for his grandchildren but knowing he was dying (sob); Stepmom for the horror of knowing you won't see your kids grow up and the awful jealousy that brings;

Sometimes all three scenarios come to bear at once. And it's heartbreaking.

I'm off to have a little sob now...
