Summarise in maximum 3 words the performance of the current UK government

Better than Labour.

You have odd standards.

You really think that Johnson is doing better than say, Gordon Brown under the same circumstances? Brown proved himself as capable in a crisis, though I had no great love or loyalty for him, and have never once voted Labour. I will be next time though.

Literally the only member of the government who seems even half competent and sympathetic is Sunak

This was post I replied to above but quote didn't work.

AwkwardSquad · 06/09/2020 17:00

Corrupt, amoral, incompetent

AwkwardSquad · 06/09/2020 17:01

And what the fuck does Corbyn have to do with the current situation?

GetOffYourHighHorse · 06/09/2020 17:06

'read this in an article earlier: “Our problem is that Starmer’s appeal is his competence," one Tory MP said"

What has he been competent at? He supported Jezza for years that shows poor critical thinking skills for starters.

Granted, Starmer is more articulate at public speaking than Johnson, even. if. he. overeggs. the. pauses. Thats about it.

Look at his shadow cabinet, that weasly little shadow health Secretary who has copied his hair do and then we have Sir Keith and Angela Rayner taking the knee before researching what BLM was actually about. Hang on! They support the phrase not the defund the police organisation silly! Or something. Doesn’t seem competent if you ask me.

It is very easy for the opposition to mudsling in something no one has had to manage before. They would have had the very same health advice and reacted exactly the same, or probably much worse. Look at #ThankyouNicola's high care home death rate. Even with a low density population compared to England the SNP have had the highest care home death rate in England yet she gets away that for some reason.

@AwkwardSquad

And what the fuck does Corbyn have to do with the current situation?
Nothing at all but there are some Tory voters who’ll still trot it out when he’s dead and buried.
GetOffYourHighHorse · 06/09/2020 17:09

Or even the UK

bp300 · 06/09/2020 17:10

@AwkwardSquad

And what the fuck does Corbyn have to do with the current situation?
Everything, because millions of people had to vote for this Tory government to avoid a Corbyn one.
GetOffYourHighHorse · 06/09/2020 17:12

'Nothing at all but there are some Tory voters who’ll still trot it out when he’s dead and buried.'

Well it's because if the Tories hadn't got a massive majority in Dec then Jez would be running the show in this crisis and that is a very sobering thought.

But yes, you're right he is completely irrelevant. Let's focus on brylcream Keith.

VinylDetective · 06/09/2020 17:13

Everything, because millions of people had to vote for this Tory government to avoid a Corbyn one

No they didn’t. Nobody had to do anything. I didn’t want either so I spoilt my paper.

No I had no option but to vote Tory to avoid a Corbyn government. If I had to go back in time and vote again I would vote the same way and so would millions of others.
TwelvetyOClock · 06/09/2020 17:20

Everything, because millions of people had to vote for this Tory government to avoid a Corbyn one.

Did they bollock. There are other parties. There is the option to spoil your ballot. There is even the radical possibility that a labour government would have been a better option.

AwkwardSquad · 06/09/2020 17:23

You keep telling yourself that, I’m sure it’s a great comfort as we watch our country get flushed down the shitter by the Bullingdon Boys.

TwelvetyOClock · 06/09/2020 17:23

What do people think Corbyn would have done that would have been so much worse?

VinylDetective · 06/09/2020 17:25

@TwelvetyOClock

What do people think Corbyn would have done that would have been so much worse?
Good question. The answers to that should be entertaining.
IpanemaSunshine · 06/09/2020 17:25

Oh dear, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a thread where Tory voters are struggling to find praise for their shit show government.

Port1aCastis · 06/09/2020 17:26

I didn't vote for bojo and his crew either, however the OP says in three words summarise the performance of the government.... not in many words insult the opposition .
So as before
Bullshitters Liars Incompetents

rosiethehen · 06/09/2020 17:28

Strategically incompetent

bp300 · 06/09/2020 17:29

@TwelvetyOClock

What do people think Corbyn would have done that would have been so much worse?
Nationalised pretty much every industry that was going bust. Reduced the income from taxes by raising them and forcing wealthy people to leave the country. Spend even more money than Rishi Sunak causing a debt crisis. Allow people to not pay rent for years without getting evicted. Stricter lockdown measures to name just a few.
mondaynoon · 06/09/2020 17:34

Incompetent, corrupt, liars

snappycamper · 06/09/2020 17:35

Absolutely fucking shite

ChanceChanceChance · 06/09/2020 17:36

@TwelvetyOClock

What do people think Corbyn would have done that would have been so much worse?
Yes this. I didn't vote for Labour this time but really, it couldn't have been any worse imo.
VinylDetective · 06/09/2020 17:36

This government has effectively nationalised the railways.
This government is going to have to raise taxes to repay the biggest debt since WW2.
This government is presiding over the biggest debt crisis in living memory.

The last two points are pure supposition, what’s your basis for making those assumptions?

Those are not options when none of the other parties have any chance of beating Labour and most of them are worse than the Conservatives.
SpringerJS · 06/09/2020 17:38

Lining friends’ pockets

ChanceChanceChance · 06/09/2020 17:38

@bp300

This had to be a wind up. Gordon Brown is without a doubt the worst chancellor and PM we've ever had. Rishi Sunak is second worst chancellor we've had, both almost bankrupted the country.
Both were at the helm during the unprecedented financial events. They were both chancellors, not magicians.
